Hunter update:
Hunter's bleeding/infection is doing great since the girls are out of heat now. Which is a big blessing but will still be getting neutered for his safety and well-being.
๐พ NOTE: I just wanted to say the boys are NEVER like this each cycle. It only happened this cycle. A lot was going on this cycle and was a lot for everyone. The girls were separated completely away from the boys. ๐พ
Now, for another update with Hunter. I was debating on sharing, but I know things can happen like this (and sometimes worse), plus I'm open and honest sharing what goes on in a pack setting/breeding. Having intacted males and females and cycles going on don't always mix. With that being said, while the girls were in heat during prime time. Hunter and Ice got into an argument and battled a bit. That resulted in Hunter losing 1 whole canine tooth. I'm not sure how that happened as it happened so fast. We took Hunter down to the emergency vet (that is another whole story), and they told us that I need to call our vet for dental xrays and dental work if needed. While trying to give him so much medicine that wasn't needed. They refused to do dental xrays there and told us they don't do dental xrays that our vet needs to. We took him back home, gave him the pain meds and antibiotic till I called our vet the next morning. Called our vet the next morning, and they gave Hunter more pain medicine for a few day just to be safe as his whole canine did just come out. Then they told me that the antibiotic the er vet gave him I can still give but to reduce the dosage, as the er vet give him too much for his weight.
Hunter is still eating, drinking, chewing on bones and toys, playing, and doing everything normal. Which are all good signs!
Hunter will be getting his dental xrays in 1.5 weeks, and if he doesn't need any dental work, he will be getting neutered the same day. If he needs dental work, his neuter will be put on hold as it's not good to do too much on a dog at his age being 7.5yrs old next month.
You can't notice anything just looking at him as it's his top canine. But he is doing amazing, not in any pain or showing discomfort. They boys are back being friends.
