UPDATE on our recent post of the found dog. Please remember there are two. They look very similar which I think is adding some confusion. They originally went missing near Canisus College Snoopy was found at Delaware and West Delevan. Being the many ways that area splits the possible places to be found are many.
"Snoopy" our lost and found dog was reunited with his owners yesterday. It was a very emotional day for all involved. Yomar and Esteban met us at our adoption center to reclaim Snoopy and it was clear they all missed each other very much. Yomar cried tears of joy multiple times. She hugged us and thanked our organization multiple times for keeping him safe and working to reunite them. Yomar also wanted to thank the people that brought him to us. As you can see by the photo, Snoopy was very content with them and fell asleep in Estebans lap.
We had talked for a couple of hours about multiple things, most importantly ways they can continue the search for Vader and that we will continue to help them. Yomar speaks very little English and Esteban translates the conversation to her. I think we often forget that there is a large population in Buffalo that only speak Spanish or their native language. We also often forget that many don't have or use social media, especially older generations. These things can make locating a missing dog harder for those in these scenarios. It's not that they don't want their dog back, they just don't know how or where to even start. Our hope is that these pictures get shared as much as possible to locate Vader. He is loved and missed tremendously by his owners and I'm sure Vader is missing his family just as much.
Vader is a Yorkie/Bichon Frise. His fur/hair is is straight though and doesn't favor a Bichons. He is not neutered.
