Oak Meadows Stables

Oak Meadows Stables Life lessons in a stable environment! The realization of a lifelong dream - Oak Meadows came together to celebrate the horse.

We wanted an environment that allowed horses and people to interact together and learn and play. We are proud to be a Natural Horsemanship barn. Leah Imsand, owner and instructor, is a firm believer in being natural with horses and is currently working through the levels of the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program. Whether you are a first time horse owner or a seasoned horse person, we offer a saf

ety net with lessons and boarding. Our Boarding facilities consist of a 14 stall barn which includes a tack room (complete with refrigerator) and separate parking, and room for horse trailers. Boarders have access to all facilities on the property, including: all arenas, pastures, round pen, barrels, poles, and other horse toys. Leah is always available to answer questions and help with horsemanship, riding, horse management, and normal preventative health care. We teach a balanced seat in both Western and English disciplines, and incorporate ba****ck work to improve the student's seat and balance. Our lessons are centered around the principles of natural horsemanship as taught in the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program. Students will learn to build a partnership with their horse using the principles of Love, Language and Leadership. The focus of every lesson is not only to help the student improve in his or her horsemanship skills, but also to enjoy the experience of working and playing with horses. Our School Horses are specially selected for their dispositions and "Horsenalities", and go through extensive training before earning the badge of School Horse! We teach each student how to communicate with the horse, and how to recognize the horse's communication back to them.

Join Our Family as
Our New Riding Instructor!

We have a friendly family of owners, students, and barn personnel at our facility located in Toney, Alabama. We use natural horsemanship methods in our riding experience and we prioritize safety. Our program teaches a balanced seat in both Western and English riding styles. We also focus on other aspects of horsemanship including safe handling, grooming, groundwork, and routine care of horses.
How will you fit in?
Our new riding instructor will need to work well with people and be proficient in handling horses. You must be comfortable using natural horsemanship methods teaching all ages and skill levels. Good communication and organizational skills are a must! You will help grow the student lesson program using social media and other means. Competitive pay based on experience.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
• Teaching and scheduling riding lessons
• Growing our lesson program
• Updating our stable’s page
• Coordinating and teaching riding camps (seasonal)
• Record keeping for the lessons
• Light barn chores
Our Facilities
Oak Meadows Stables has many fantastic amenities such as two outdoor arenas with lighting, round pens, an indoor arena, and horse obstacles. Our Schooling Horses are specially selected for their dispositions and "Horsenalities". They go through extensive training before earning the badge of “Schooling Horse”!
There are separate boarding and lesson barns, both equipped with security cameras and locked gates. Our owner, Leah Imsand, lives onsite. Please visit our website for more information about us.
