Learned something new - Sidepocket Champ loves watermelon! Good thing we were done with our class as there was a lot of watermelon juice on his lips, my hands, my breeches. A well earned treat as he is such a good boy! Thanks to our great friends for bringing food to share with everyone, including horses, at the event!

National Veterinary Day! We have so much appreciation for our vets. Thank you for keeping the Canter Haven OTTBs and the corgis healthy!

A great evening of learning last night and got to hang out with our friend Catherine Kirby of Noble Horse Sanctuary (Noble is a sanctuary for senior horses and provides a safe, loving home for many older equines). Many thanks to Boehringer Ingelheim and Paragon Equine for hosting! I learned a lot, particularly in regard to Equine Asthma.

Its winter and ski season! Canter Haven receives various donations of items and since we are getting quite a collection of great things, time to offer items for sale. Money from all sales go directly to the farm and OTTBs ( we are, after all a 501c3!)

So here is the OTTBs Etsy shop! Will be adding a lot more items such as paintings, more jewelry, and such. But as it is ski season, here are some ski pins from the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics! (there are more on our Etsy shop too)

More Thoroughbred Classic. Did I say I love this show? I picked one of these photos because the show photographer caught me smiling. This is sort of a big deal.
I had a coach once tell me that he never really knew what I was thinking/feeling as I rode up to a fence as I keep a pretty neutral expression, until one day when he had Gus and I jump the large V shaped XC fence with brush. He said my looked changed. Afterwards I told him, yep - that was horrifying but super fun!
