February is Dental Awareness Month and you’ll see all of our adorable patients this month with their freshly cleaned pearly whites. February is also Spay and Neuter Awareness moth!

In honor of this we would like to introduce you to Mr. Chips one of three community cats we here at Shawnee Animal Hospital care for. Mr. Chips is a cat that was born outside and has little interest in people other than for his routine feedings. He has been TNR’d, meaning we have trapped, neutered, vaccinated him, and he was released back where he was trapped.

There are thousands of cats just like Mr. Chips in Topeka and many more all over the world, many of which aren’t as lucky to have people that provide food, water and shelter. Spaying and neutering are an important part of preventing overpopulation in our shelters and rescues.
