Graham started training with us do to his reactivity toward and mounting kiddos in the home.
Wow, the progress made has been phenomenal! When we first started our journey, these two wanted NOTHING to do with each other. Both were anxious, nervous, and frustrated- look at them now!

They love going on walks together and working with each other outside! They've begun getting more calm interactions inside as well. I'm so excited to see how they continue to progress together.

A few clients have asked me to post more about our boarding dogs, so here's one from last month! 😉

While his parents were traveling for a day of giving and thanks, we had the pleasure of boarding this beautiful Newfiepoo pup, Bear.

His favorite things were finding all the BIG sticks- which kept Sarah on her toes, playing with the kids, and had the opportunity to play with two of our residents dogs, Bear and Honeycomb.

And the Bears became best buds!!

We are so proud of the progress these two have made!

Moe (pitty) started training with us due to his fear reactivity with unfamiliar people (barking/lunging/trying to bite). They have been working hard on his impulse control, understanding and respecting boundaries, and emotional regulation.

Duchess (German Shepherd) started training with us after being attacked by another dog to work on building up her confidence and preventing reactivity. They have been focusing on a lot of the same things!

Both dogs were in a group session together, and we noticed how curious the dogs were about each other. So, we decided to try a tandem lesson.

We began the lesson regulating down and not interacting with each other. Once both dogs were settled and confident, we all took a walk together, taking turns going around, in front/behind, and beside each other. They both did a wonderful job staying regulated during the walk and even began taking cues and treats from the other handler!

To see how connected each handlers to their dogs body language and emotional state was wonderful!!

Taking some time on these rainy days to develop our skills in communicating expectations, proofing learned behaviors, identifying triggers, and figuring out how to regulate around an unfamiliar dog. While these pictures were taken while Moe and Faith were exhibiting calm behavior, we intentionally cycled through frustration, excitement, anxiety, etc. and then back down to baseline/ offered calm behavior.

Both client dogs were there for their 3rd week of lessons, both beginning training due to reactivity that has turned physical, and we were all very impressed with the emotional regulation achieved. Great job guys!

Yes, BOTH Faith and Ogi are in a behavioral down in the second picture, which was AMAZING!

Ogi, the German shepherd in both pictures, is our resident neutral dog, with whom most, if not all, of our clients get the opportunity to work with. ❤️

We had a great lesson with Bomi! She started with us a few months ago, and was so scared of just about everything. She's now walking confident and taking so much in stride! We loved seeing her show us some of her frustration during her training session the other day, and we are looking forward to helping her process and work through that as well. She's got a wonderful support system and we're so proud of all the hard work they've put in! 💗

Millie started her first session with us last week and she was having so much fun!
Does she look familiar? Ms. Millie is a little famous! 🤩 her pictures have been selected for multiple dog calendars! How cool is that?

Do your dogs enjoy car rides?

Usually we travel with and transport dogs in the back in kennels for safety purposes, but today's trip was in a different vehicle, where that wasn't an option. 😉 Ogi was still pretty relaxed and made himself comfortable.
