We would like to thank everyone who came out yesterday and apologize to those who showed up to an empty stand before we could get the news out that we sold out of mums.

This year was a trial run of growing mums, and we never imagined that we would sell our entire stock (over 100) in just 3 1/2 hours! We are still in shock!

We will be growing quite a bit more next season! We absolutely love that we grew these all summer long, and now they will be out in the community to bring life and color to the fall season!

Thank you! 🙏

We are open with plenty of mums!

We are excited to announce our first ever mum sale!

Our self-serve stand will be open this Saturday (September 27) at 8am for our first annual mum sale! All mums just $5 each!

This was our very first year growing mums, they are slightly smaller than we anticipated, so we decided to sell them for just $5 each. Our loss is your gain!

These mums are on the verge and will provide some great fall color for the entire month of October and more! They will go great planted in a landscape or just in pots on your front porch! The mums are nice and healthy as we have been growing and caring for them since mid summer!

A little mum update!

They are starting to form flower buds! We were hoping the actual plants would be bigger by now, but that's okay. Its been a learning curve growing these for the first time, and the drought hasn't granted us any favors!

However, the flowers look plentiful and the foliage is dark green and super healthy! These will be beautiful in any autumn display or landscape when they come into bloom!

We are estimating another 2-3 weeks before these will be available. Give or take a few days or a week. Keep a look out and if you're on our email list we will have the information out as soon as we can!

Our self-serve stand is open for the last time this season until sunset tonight. We have an abundance of tomatoes! Also in stock are peppers, beets, beet greens, carrots, kale, and swiss chard. It has been a great summer season!

****Would you like to get on our email list? Often times social media posts can get lost in the shuffle, or dont always show up in your feed - so I like to send out emails (typically weekly) with updates about what will be available at the stand; garden updates; special sales like our spring seedling sale, possibly a fall mum sale; and even simple recipes that I love using garden ingredients!

Send us a message with your email, and you will be added right away, and always kept in the loop about upcomimg happenings!****

I love finding examples of natural pest control in the garden!

What you see here is one of the most devastating tomato plant pests: The tomato horn worm. When you look closer, you can see these small white oval shaped things hanging off of it.

What are these small white things? Believe it or not, they are cocoons of the braconid wasp.

Braconid wasps are not harmful to humans, aren't aggressive, and don't sting. They are about the size of a mosquito. They act as both a parasitic predator and as a polinator!

How does that work? Adult braconoid wasps (the females) lay their eggs on/in tomato horn worms. The eggs hatch, and out come the larvae. The larvae feeds on the insides of the worm and kills it from the inside out (kinda morbid, kinda cool). They then eat their way out and pupate (form the cocoon) on the hornworm - creating more adult braconid wasps!

Another reason we never use pesticides and synthetics/chemicals in our garden. We want to keep the beneficials around and not create a toxic environment.
