🚧 Exciting news - Construction has begun! 🚧
We're making improvements to our lobby area! While it's under construction, our waiting area is temporarily closed. Please call 729 4678 and press option 1 to check in for your appointment, or simply text us when you arrive! For those picking up meds/food, call to pre-pay and we'll organize a convenient way to get your items. Thank you for your patience and ongoing support!

Androscoggin Animal Hospital now offers the option of end-of-life care for your pet in the comfort and familiarity of your home. We understand that saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult moments for any pet parent, and being at home can help make this process more peaceful for both you and your pet.

If you need assistance with end-of-life care, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can call 207-729-4678 and we will assist you with scheduling.

Also know that the entire AAH Team extends their heartfelt sympathy and genuine desire to assist you during this difficult time of transition.

🦷 It's almost Pet Dental Health Month 🦷! Pictured here is a mandibular x-ray of a cat. The K9 on the right has a pocket, as you can tell by the halo effect, around where the gumline should be. The root is barely visible, meaning it has resorbed into the bone and would not need to be removed. The crown of the tooth has 'holes' or resorptive lesions on the crown meaning this tooth would require a crown amputation; we remove just the crown and close the gingiva. This is less painful for the patient and heals quicker than a full extraction. We can only see this on x-ray and without x-ray would likely attempt a full extraction which is not necessary.

From the moment our team hits the parking lot, early in the morning, we're ready - 6 days a week. Sometimes it's quiet, and everyone shuffles in with a coffee in hand and maybe a little dog-friend in tow. Other times, we're met with an urgent patient in need of care immediately, and we drop the coffee on our way in to stabilize them and help comfort the owner. Either way, we're here for you and your pet. Our team is dedicated and willing to help when needed. 💛
