Nail trims are an essential part of basic care, and we want our dogs to feel comfortable with them. During Bella's board and train with us, we focused on confidence building and getting her comfortable with intimidating things like the Dremel. By taking it slow and working patiently with Bella, we ensured that nail trims became a stress-free experience for her. We believe in making cooperative care a positive and rewarding experience for all dogs. 🤍🐾

Meet Stanley, one of our amazing fosters from New Start K9! He recently graduated from our Off-Leash Board and Train Program. 🎓 Thanks to the SNK9 Scholarship, Stanley is now thriving in his new home in Colorado as an off-leash trained adventure/mountain biking dog. 🚵‍♂️ We love working with fosters and hope to continue offering scholarships to dogs in need.

Kita has mastered impulse control around other animals! 🤩 As a Border Collie, her natural herding instincts are strong, making this training especially important. Border Collies are incredibly intelligent and energetic, which makes training both rewarding and necessary.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Border Collies are known for their intense stare, also called 'the eye,' which helps them control livestock? 🧿🐑

We’re so proud of Kita's achievements and excited to see her put her skills to good use!

This little firecracker had a habit of picking fights with anyone bigger than her (which is pretty much everyone! 😂). But with some dedicated training, she's learned to channel her energy in positive ways.

🌞 Summer is here! We hope you and your furry friends are staying cool with plenty of water, shade, and fun activities. We love our lake days and splashing around as a pack, but it's crucial to be mindful of what might be lurking in the water.

Beware of Algae Blooms and Swimmer's Itch! ☢️
Algae blooms, caused by warm temperatures and nutrient-rich water, produce toxins harmful to both humans and pets. Toxic algae can harm dogs, causing vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, and even seizures. Keep your pets away from the Virgin River and stagnant water. If your dog shows symptoms after water exposure, seek immediate vet care.

Also, be aware of swimmer's itch at Sand Hollow Reservoir. To decrease your chances of getting it, avoid stagnant water and rinse off immediately after swimming.
