We believe that halter conformation should have the balance, structure, and the right kind of muscling to make a horse able to perform multiple tasks. Brookview Farm was established in 1983 just west and south of Toronto in east central South Dakota. Jim and Sandy Madsen purchased the farm site and put in many hours of work to make it their own special home. The house and barn date back to 1910 an

d were a part of the original farmstead. The shelter belt of trees was brought in by horse and wagon from Oakwood Lake and planted by hand. They are proud of the history of this place and want to keep updating it as time allows. A new indoor arena was added in the fall of 2000 it was a welcome addition during the winter months. They were married in 1982. Sandy quit working at 3M in 1984 and devoted her time to operating the farm. In 1995 they purchased the weanling stallion Romancing Time. This stallion turned out to be far more than they ever imagined or dreamed. This majestic black stallion not only proved himself in the show ring but as an outstanding sire besides. His get have balance, class, straight legs, beautiful minds, muscle and dispositions. They can compete in halter with the best and turn around and compete in the performance classes besides. Through the years his get have dominated futurities in a 4 state area. They have been top ten at the Quarter Horse Congress and the AQHA and IBHA World show. Circuit champions in halter and performance and the list continues to grow. In 2007 Jim has since retired from 3M and a new house was added to the farm. Romancing Time's book is still available for live cover to outside mares, and they do plan to just keep their best couple of mares to raise a few foals out of and enjoy more time doing things with the horses and maybe traveling a bit in the off seasons. Romancing Time has more than become an important part of the family and will always be with them as long as they live.
