About Me
For as long as I can remember, I have been bringing home every stray animal I could find. Mostly told, ‘no you can’t keep it”, but that didn’t stop me. I have nursed to health and freedom many wild birds and small animals, even as a child. At 8 years old, we had a gopher digging holes all over our yard. My grandpa brought over a trap and we set in in one of the holes. He was caught very quickly. Once I saw the dead gopher, I had overwhelming remorse for having killed an animal. I ran and found a box, wrapped him in tissue and buried him. I also made a headstone out of cardboard and wrote to God how sorry I was for killing the gopher and would he please let him in heaven. I have that headstone in my possession to this day.
I have worked in a vet office and have two friends who are vets. I am very well versed in minor would care and have very good judgment.
I have never been without a cat and a dog my whole life and usually had other creatures in the mix too. My first love has always been horses. I feel a deep and profound connection with them. I’ll never forget my first experience of buying my first horse. I answered an ad for a young, 3 year old quarter horse named Skip. When I arrived, the man pointed him out to me and said be careful he’s pretty green. As I ran up to the fence, Skip was running towards me. The man was shouting, “Don’t get too close at first”. I jumped up on the fence and Skip approached me and hung his head on my shoulder, as if to say, “Please take me home with you” . The man said he had never seen anything like it out of Skip. I turned to him and said, “I’ll take him”. And that was that. I ended up with 3 horses that year. I lived on 5 acres with a big barn and had a friend board her horse with me so our daughters could ride together.
I am currently working on my Animal Energy Certification. I will have my certification later this year. It would be my pleasure to take the best care of your loving pets while you’re away or simply need an occasional helping hand. I would also be happy to exercise and groom your horses when you don’t have the time. Please contact me with any questions you may have.
