5-fluorouracil is a cream that people use to treat rough areas of skin or cancer. All 14 reported cased of pet exposure has resulted in the pets' death. If using this cream, please be careful when using it around your pet.

As of September, the Food and Drug Administration had received 14 reports involving 20 dogs that had been accidentally exposed to topical 5-fluorouracil, all ending in death of the dogs. In response, the agency asked manufacturers to add a warning to the medicine containers.

Just a reminder to please be careful when administering CBD products to your pet. As the drug is still considered illegal to the federal government, there is no oversight and no strict testing/regulation of the product. You might not know how much you are actually giving to your pet with each dose and could potentially overdose. This is a major reason why we don't recommend using CBD as a treatment option for pets.
