We are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt plea for your generous support.

Reborn Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit in Torrington, CT, dedicated to providing temporary care for pets whose owners face mental health challenges, hospitalization, or domestic violence, ensuring families can stay together during times of crisis. Reborn Animal Rescue, a non-profit 501(c)(3), located in the northwest corner of the beautiful state of Connecticut, is dedicated to providing a

safe haven for animals in need, but we can’t do it alone. We are currently launching a capital campaign, and we need your help to ensure the success of this vital initiative. At our rescue, we have witnessed the countless struggles faced by strays, abandoned, abused and neglected animals. Each day, innocent lives hang in the balance, desperately waiting for a second chance. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find loving forever homes for these animals, but the magnitude of the challenge in our state is immense. Our rescue, as with most of the rescues in the state, is lacking the space to properly take on this challenge. The funds we raise through this capital campaign will play a crucial role in expanding our capacity to save more lives (animals & humans). Here’s how your contribution can make a tangible difference.

1. Building a New Facility: Currently Reborn Animal Rescue is operated out of our very small home, we have run out of space and are unable to accommodate the growing number of animals in need, in turn we have had to close for intakes. By raising funds, we can create an additional space in the community, and build comfortable living quarters. We also want to create an area for temporarily housing animals whose owners are battling mental health struggles and need some time in a rehab facility or hospital but have nowhere for their beloved pets to go as this is a need that is not currently met in our state. We are calling this program “Pawsitive Haven: Finding Strength Together, Mental Health Support for Pet Owners”.

2. Medical Care and Rehabilitation: Many animals arrive at our doorstep suffering from severe injuries, illnesses, and emotional trauma. Your support will enable us to provide immediate medical attention, necessary surgeries, and ongoing rehabilitation programs to ensure their recovery and well-being with a state of the art Medical Clinic.

3. Enhancing Adoption Programs: Finding the perfect forever home for each animal is our ultimate goal. With your help, we can invest in adoption outreach programs, marketing efforts, and adoption events to increase the visibility of our animals and connect them with loving families.

4. Education and Community Outreach: We strongly believe that education and awareness are key to preventing animal abuse and neglect. Your generous contributions will allow us to develop educational materials, conduct workshops, and organize community events, creating a more compassionate society for all animals. Reborn Animal Rescue will have a booth where we’ll be sharing our plans for Pawsitive Haven - a safe, loving space where we will care for pets while their owners seek treatment or safety from challenges like mental health struggles and domestic violence. We’re working on raising approximately $2 million to secure a 2-3 acre property and build a 5,000 sq ft facility to make this vision a reality.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

At Reborn Animal Rescue, we understand that domestic violence doesn’t just affect people physically - it also takes a deep toll on their mental health. Many survivors struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma, and the added stress of worrying about their pets only makes it harder to seek the safety and care they need.

What’s even more heartbreaking is the undeniable link between domestic violence and animal abuse. Pets are often used as leverage in abusive situations, and this fear of harm can prevent people from leaving dangerous environments.

That’s why Reborn Animal Rescue is working to build a facility that provides a safe haven for pets while survivors focus on their own mental health, healing, and safety. 🐾

Our goal is Reunification over rehoming - offering survivors peace of mind, knowing their pets are being cared for until they can reunite.

This facility will not only protect animals from harm, but it will also ease the mental burden on survivors, giving them the freedom to seek counseling, treatment, and the support they need to rebuild their lives.

We’re taking a huge step forward in our mission to help pets and their owners stay together during times of crisis. Our goal is to build a 5,000 sq. ft. facility that will provide a safe and loving space for pets while their owners seek critical mental health or general health treatments or escape domestic violence situations.

But we can’t do it alone, we're looking for our community to step up and help us achieve this goal!

We’re looking for:

🏞️ Approx. 2 acres of land to house our facility (gives room for expansion)

💰 Approx. $2 million to bring this dream to life (will most likely be a bit less as we have some individuals who already pledged to help us with free labor while we cover just cost of materials - if you are interested in helping us here please reach out to [email protected]).

With your help, this space will offer a haven for pets, ensuring families don’t have to choose between their own health or safety and their furry companions.

🚨 Less than 5% of domestic violence shelters are equipped to house pets.

To All of Our Supporters,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to extend my heartfelt apologies for our recent absence and lack of responsiveness outside of phone calls. Unfortunately, I have been facing some unexpected health challenges that resulted in surgery.

My focus has been on recovery, but I'm on the mend and eager to get back to our mission of rescuing and caring for animals in need as well as getting a facility where we can launch our Pawsitive Haven program.

Behind the scenes we have still been plugging along. We are in the final stages of our Needs Assessment Study with Shelter Planners of America that will provide us with the thorough information to go after larger fundraising to build our facility and all the details of what that facility will look like.
