Update from lavender girls family

Lily is doing great! No accidents in the house and doing great at going potty outside. She's just like a baby...eats and drinks, plays, goes potty outside, then naps...and repeat. She loves her new little boy, her crackle squirrel toy, and her new dad. We're all pretty in love.

Update from teal (dark blue) his family shared this morning about his first night home.

Oliver is doing so well! No crying at all at bedtime, and no accidents in the house. He got up 3 times during his first night, but went potty outside and then right back to sleep. He and Libby (full sibling) are learning to play together- so fun to watch. 😊. He helped water flowers this morning and now is napping. ❤️. So happy that he is part of our family!!!

Update on yellow female from her family:

Marley Mae is a very sweet little pup that loves being beside us. Wags her tail happily as she runs and plays.
Night one cried an hour after kennel bedtime then quiet until let out at 6am. Always potties outside; has had no accidents. Eating and drinking well.

Bentley is really good! Sleeps in his kennel right by our bed no problem. I took him out 3 times during the night and up by 6:30. Just what I expected . He's so fun to play with we really love him. He's been eating and drinking good too. So happy we have him.

Kennel and pen set up-
We recommend the metal wire kennels and I love the double door option because I rearrange my living room a lot. The pen below does attach nicely with simple zip ties. This metal panel fence does come apart but also big enough if you work long hours and need to add a potty option.

Potty training-
For when the puppies are potty training with us at MVK we use pellet bedding. Have used both boot trays which can be bought just about anywhere or you can actually buy the liner pans for the puppy kennel. The puppies are already using the “litter” pan already at just 5 weeks old. I don’t recommend the disposal potty pads because the pups normally play with them and eat the material.
At this time 1/1/24 puppies have NOT been outside with paws on the ground. With the weather we had it was just too cold. You can take them outside when you get them home for potty and we do encourage this. Recommendation would be carry pup down any stairs, and do not play with puppy until he/she went potty than praise. We tend to walk around and just watch them and say go potty. Times to watch for to take outside: after sleeping and eating and drinking most pups potty right after that.

Food/toys-
We use Diamond naturals small breed puppy food and recommend pups stay on puppy food until 1 year of age OR or vet says you can switch. For toys you can have fun with this still and spoil you pups but some things to think about.
Stuffed animals for toys if you have kids is never a good idea you might have some stuffed animals disappear 😂 we use rubber chew bones for teething pups and always have lumabones. Lumabones come in different styles, DO NOT but the ones with circles in them as there has been some reports of dogs getting them stuck on their lower jaws.

Traveling with your pup-
If you have a long drive to bring your puppy home do not stop at public areas, pull off on a dirt road . The reason for this is because pups can pick up viruses easy, they will only have 1st set of shots at 6 weeks of age and will need the next set at 9weeks please reach out to your vet now and get appointments scheduled. Pups needs to be seen by a vet with in two weeks of possession.
