This is not to attack anyone, this is strictly for educational purposes for all my pet parents who want their fur babies leaving the groomer looking pretty but get disappointed because they are severely matted and have to get shaved down.

I wanted to come on here and give some advice to pet owners who have HIGHmaintenance dogs. Please understand that your dog needs to be brushed & combed at least 4-5 days out of the week. It doesn’t matter if the hair is straight or curly. MATTING is very common on these kinds of dogs! ( poodles&poodle mixes, sh*tzu , even golden retrievers etc ) unless you have a short haired dog ( pit bull , beagle, frenchies etc ) your dog is most likely high maintenance & needs regular grooming, that also includes cleaning your dogs eyes everyday to prevent matted around the eyes . Please do not get mad or upset when you bring your dog to the groomer and we tell you your dog needs a shave down. We are telling you this for the safety of your dog. We do not DE-MATT dogs if they are matted all over. That’s animal cruelty! Please try to understand that we are about pet safety first and we DO NOT accommodate pet owners because they want their dog to look pretty. If you want your dog to look pretty, please keep up with regular maintenance so your fur baby doesn’t have to ever get shaved down again. Also Matt’s are painful & if we try to comb them out it will leave your dog in ALOT of pain.

& to anyone who is thinking about getting a high maintenance dog please do your research first and be sure that you are ready and prepared for constant brushing and combing & baths in between groomings. Your fur baby deserves to be well taken care of.
