📣 Catonsville MD - Reunion after more than 11 weeks!
Eva and her husband left their dog Harlei with a sitter on 7/4/24 when they had to go away for a few days.
Soon after they dropped their furbaby off, the sitter left the door open after a walk and the dog ran, typical behavior when a pup feels uncomfortable and wants to find mom! Of course the sitter began to chase, which scared Harlei even more and she kept running. 🆘
Eva contacted us, and we immediately started coaching the family and the sitter. The sitter didn’t have much interest in helping , but soon several neighbors jumped in and offered! 🙏🏼 There were a few neighbors who had seen her in their yards, and people started leaving food out. At one point we had a trap in a particular yard where she came often. Unfortunately, she didn’t return; this girl was definitely looking for her mama.
This morning, almost 3️⃣ months later there was a post in a lost dog group for Baltimore County. The picture was unmistakable, it was Harlei! Apparently the finder found her a week ago, and she was worried because she appeared malnourished when found.
😒 It is so easy to make judgments about an owner when you find a dog that looks neglected. Always consider the fact that this animal could have been lost for a while.
Eva was finally able to connect with the finder and retrieve her girl.
What a joyful reunion! Harlei now even has a brand new baby sister that was born while she was on her adventure. 👶🏽🩷
😍 We are so happy for this wonderful little family that is now all together again.
Thanks going out to amazing supportive neighbors Jordan, Jen, & others who were so supportive & of course Eva who didn’t give up on her baby Harlei. ♥️🐾
