Yuji is a senior boy who has had zero interest since rescued from Manteca Animal Shelter.

Yuji is a big old goofball who loves rolling around on a nice grassy lawn. He loves everyone he meets and is always ready for adventure. Yuji loves to run around with zoomies in his yard before retiring back to the couch for a nice nap.

Yuji was unfortunately hit by a car in Manteca and when his owners were contacted to let them know their family dog was injured and in the shelter, they chose to surrender him over the phone instead of taking him home. Since the shelter has no veterinary resources, he had to find rescue right away or be euthanized. Better World Rescue took this sweet boy in and we are so happy that we did. He is great in the car, sweet with kids, and loves to lounge around with his humans. He has now recovered fully from his injuries and has a clean bill of health for adoption.

Yuji is house-trained, crate-trained and knows some basic commands. Yuji would be easiest as an only dog as he can guard food and toys from other dogs. He is not recommended to live with cats as he has moderate prey drive.

Yuji is microchipped, neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Give this sweet boy his forever home today!

This adoption update is bittersweet. We’re going to tell you about sweet sweet Pepper.

Pepper was found as a stray and ended up in the Manteca animal shelter. He was a blind senior Chihuahua. Everyone knew the odds of a blind senior dog getting adopted was going to be very rare.

Amazingly after a few months, a family saw pepper and immediately fell in love with him and adopted him.

During his time in his new home he was so spoiled and went on so many adventures. His family adored him and couldn’t imagine life without him. Unfortunately Pepper has recently crossed the rainbow bridge. 😢💔🌈 however we are all comforted to know that he lived the rest of his life in a loving home.

🙀 Help! I'm lost!! Help! 🙀

Do I look familiar to you?

This little guy is looking for his owner. Found in Ceres running around with another small dog. He is about 20lbs or maybe even a bit smaller and is very very sweet and just wants to cuddle. He hasn't been around children.

When scanned, he didn't have a microchip. This little guy is still on stray hold while we continue to try to look for his owners.

This guy needs a foster through his stray hold and then until he is adopted.

November is Adopt-a-Senior-Pet Month and we hope, with your help, to improve the adoption rate for older pets.

Here are a few reasons that make older pets a great option.

1)Older pets are typically calmer than puppies and kittens, often content with a more relaxing day-to to-day routine.

2)With senior pets, you know exactly what you’re getting. Senior pets’ personalities are already developed so you can tell right away if they will be a good fit for your family. Things like size, energy level, and health status are already established so you know exactly what to expect with your new pet.

3)Story after story suggests that senior pets are especially grateful for their new home. They seem to know they’ve been rescued and owners often notice an extra special sense of love and appreciation from their senior pet.

All Better World Rescue animals are neutered/spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations and qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption.

SHILO NEEDS OUT OF BOARDING ASAP

Our lovable Shilo is in need of a new foster. His puppy years were spent in the shelter and he promises to help make Thanksgivings dinner AND do the dishes this year.

Shilo loves car rides and supports random ice cream stops. This best boy is crate trained, has basic obedience down, and loves showing off all the tricks he knows. Shilo goes to group classes on a regular basis and is working on being a gentleman on a leash.

Shilo needs a slow introduction to new pets, but loves running around a yard and assisting your fitness goals. If you like binge watching Hallmark Christmas movies, Shilo is your man to do it with.

Here's a little more about this handsome, good boy:

Crush is a precious and adorable couch potato. He loves to lay outside on the patio in the sun as much as he loves to lay on the couch in front of the fan. Crush is a great boy with a gentle soul. He is easily occupied with things like doggy puzzles and yummy bones.

Crush loves his crinkle fox and duck toys and will sometimes carry around his prized toys in the most adorable manner.

Crush prefers to be with his humans as much as possible and is still working on crate training while his foster is at work. As he settles in to foster care, he is becoming more comfortable with separation and is choosing now to wander out more independently to explore. Crush is a big lover who thinks that he is a lap dog despite his size.

Crush greets other dogs well on leash and tested well with other dogs when at the shelter. Bring your own dog(s) to meet this boy to see if they might be a fit together. Crush has also done fine meeting children, though he does not currently live with any. Crush does not currently live with cats, so we are not sure how he feels about them.

Crush is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption. 🚨URGENT FOSTER NEEDED🚨

Help us keep Josette out of boarding. This 5 year old German Shepherd is looking for a foster or her forever home. She has plenty of energy to help you meet your walking and hiking goals, or you can stay in the yard and play fetch. She is kennel trained and rarely barks when people enter the house.

Better World Rescue would like to give a big thank you to Mike Cardenas for inviting us out to the VEA Martial Arts Collaboration seminar!

They chose us as the non-profit of choice for this event. They made a beautiful raffle basket that was worth over $500 (thank you vendors and others who donated an item for the raffle basket) and sold raffle tickets. Many wonderful spectators brought in cat and dog food and item donations, too! They treated us like family and made us feel so welcomed. We couldn't be any more grateful!!

We thank each and every person who attended the seminar, bought raffle tickets, merch, or simply donated! We appreciate each and every one of you! Thanks to you all, we were able to raise $360.29! 🙌🏽🥳❤️🐾

Meet Amador, the little guy with the biggest heart! As the smallest of his litter, Amador may have started out a bit shy, but he’s quickly grown into a brave and playful kitten with tons of love to give. 🚨Urgent Foster Needed for Ronda Rousey🚨

Ronda Rousey is in need of a patient, calm, and nurturing foster that can help work with her through her fear of new people and places. When Ronda doesn't feel safe she cowers in a corner for protection. With time Ronda opens up and feels more secure in her home and loves nothing more then lounging on the couch or tearing up a toy.

Ronda is a low energy pup that gets along great with other dogs and cats. She is a gentle girl that needs a loving home that can show her that the world isn't a scary place.

💜ADOPT JOURNEY 💜

Journey lives up to her name. This stunning 1 year old kitty is one of BWR longest residents and would love to find her forever home. She is active, loves chasing brooms (we mean helping you sweep), and cuddling with her siblings. Journey gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids.

Journey does have chronic herpes, meaning she can get kitty colds more frequently but it's completely manageable with inexpensive medication. If Journey lives with other cats, they should be kept up to date on all their vaccinations.

Zayden is the ultimate couch potato that you need in your life. He is a very gentle and quiet soul.

While he loves to be outside, he usually spends that time sunbathing with a nice toy to chew on. This mild-mannered gentleman both loves affection and independence. He is the perfect combo where he loves to be loved on, but is okay entertaining himself while you are busy.

Zayden is moderate energy and is fine with short walks daily. He loves to play with and chew on rubber toys. He currently lives with other dogs and does well with them (with slow introductions). Zayden does not currently live with cats or children but we have not seen any concerning behaviors towards each.

Zayden is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for complimentary private and/or group training to help ensure a successful adoption.

Billy was the life of the party Saturday night at our Pups and Beer Cups fundraiser!! She was on top of the table, receiving belly rubs and making everyone laugh! She was showing off all of her tricks for some yummy treats! Billy is an amazing girl with such a sad past! Due to her past of being used as a bait dog, Billy needs to be the only dog in home unless you are experienced with crating and rotating. Even though Billy needs to be the only dog in home, that doesn't mean you can't take her everywhere. She did great at our event with other dogs there. Most of the time, she would ignore the dogs she was passing even when they barked at her. If she does react, she is easy to redirect and bring her attention back to her handler.
