Dedicated to the rescue, nurturing and adoption of companion animals In 2003, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full-fledged, independent, non-profit rescue.

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In our existence we have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for over 5000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations. Animal Rescue of Tracy supports Trap, Neuter, and Release of feral cats howev

er we are not a feral cat rescue. All feral cat concerns should be directed to the City of Tracy Animal Services Department. Animal Rescue of Tracy encourages the spay/neuter of all cats and dogs and does outreach to educate the Community about its benefits.

RUBY IS ADOPTED! Her new family waited almost 2 years to “find” her again after she was returned to ART by the only family she had known. 2 years ago Ruby’s new family were deciding between adopting Ruby and another ART kitty when Ruby was adopted by what we thought was her forever family. When life got in the way, Ruby was returned to ART and after some months with a loving foster family, Ruby is HOME where she was meant to be.

On this VETERAN’S DAY, we at Animal Rescue of Tracy acknowledge the service of our Veterans — who come in many shapes, sizes AND SPECIES. Year round ART offers a 10% discount on adoption fees to all military & veteran ID card holders (including family members) to say “Thank You For Your Service!”

We’re located in the Target Wing of the West Valley Mall next to Elegant Perfumes. Come by Saturdays from 11am-4pm and Sundays noon-4pm to meet many of our ADOPTABLE “furbabies”.

Every day until Friday, 11/22/24, we have 11 DESERVING cats/kittens in the Petsmart Adoption Center as well. These special “furbabies” would love to find their FOREVER FAMILY just in time to share a BIT of turkey on Thanksgiving with YOU. (PS — In small amounts unseasoned white turkey meat — no skin or bones — is a good source of protein for cats!)

We do have a number of adoptable pets who get overly stressed at Adoption Fairs. Special arrangements can be made to meet these “furbabies” outside of Adoption Fair hours.

🐾 Happy Gotcha Day Updates! 🐾

Celebrating just some of our wonderful recent and past adoptions! Some days we get busy & forget to take pictures, but we are grateful to the many amazing families who have opened their hearts to adopt, giving these sweet kitties or pups the loving homes they deserve.

Thank you to each family who welcomed a furry friend into their lives – your kindness and care mean everything - and to the fabulous foster parents who nurtured & loved these lucky “furbabies” until adoption. We could not do what we do without them.

DID YOU SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK? You may be happy for the extra hour of sleep, but “furbabies” won’t understand, so give them extra scratches today. They’ll need time to adjust to their “new” feeding times and with their people arriving home “later” than usual. Humans understand the change — tho not really anymore ?!?!? — but our pets, feral/community cats, wild animals, livestock don’t.

ART volunteers HAVE adjusted our clocks & WILL be at our Adoption Fair in the West Valley Mall beginning at NOON today with many wonderful cats/kittens & puppies waiting for their FOREVER homes.

THE RESULTS ARE IN…..

Our “Fall Fiesta Family Fun-Day” Fundraiser raised almost $6000 toward the care and feeding of our Adoptable Cats & Dogs. This was truly a “labor of love” from a huge TEAM of sponsors, volunteers and individuals. Here are just a few pictures from the event. Making Weekend Plans…..

Stop by our Weekend Adoption Fair to find your “furever friend”. We have so many wonderful cats & kittens ready for adoption and MaMa Lily and some of her pups will be coming by as well.

Lily is ready to find her FOREVER home and next week the puppies can safely meet potential adopters. For their safety they are “just visiting” this weekend.

ART celebrating with the families at Art Frieler School this evening. This is our second year being invited to the school’s TRUNK OR TREAT and one of our amazing volunteer families did an terrific job getting into the Halloween/Fall SPIRIT!

Guess who’s ready for her “furever” home …. MAMA LILY!

After all she’s been thru, this LOVELY 2-year old Wire Hair Terrier mix will be ready for “Meet & Greets” NEXT WEEK (after 10/20/24). Lily is a GREAT MOM, and it’s now time for her to find the LOVE she deserves with a family who will make her feel SAFE, WARM and HAPPY!

And speaking of her puppies, they are now 6 weeks old. It will be a few more weeks before they are ready for “Meet and Greets”, so we thought we’d share some recent pictures of all SIX!

GFWC Tracy Women’s Club, one of the amazing SPONSORS of our Compassion To Action Internship Program (along with Taylor Farms) is having an OPEN HOUSE this morning and we were invited to have an information table at the event. Adult Volunteers Dianna & Lena did a lovely job decorating and are available to talk about all things Animal Rescue of Tracy from 9-11 am today at the Mt Oso Masonic Lodge.

It’s going to be a “Fang-tastic” time the next THREE weekends at our Adoption Fairs. Stop by to meet some “Boo-tiful” furbabies looking for their FOREVER homes. It’s not too early to prepare for “Meowloween” by ADOPTING our amazing “furbabies” (we have some terrific SPONSORED “furbabies” still waiting for their homes) and/or taking part in some “Spooktacular” activities.

People For Pets is having a DOG Costume Contest on October 26, 2024 and Trosien Orthodontics is having a PET PHOTO Halloween Contest until 10/28/24, with the winner receiving a $75 Petsmart Gift Card. Dr Trosien & his staff are ardent supporters of Animal Rescue of Tracy so find the perfect costume for your “furbaby” and submit a photo per the attached flier.

Last weekend to “FALL IN LOVE” with one of our AMAZING TABBY CATS/KITTENS who are part of our September Cat Adoption Event. Adoption Fees are HALF OFF ($75) thru September 30, 2024. It’s only natural to wonder what our RESCUE LEGACY will be when we are no longer physically able to care for homeless animals, and then THIS happens….. The ACE Club of Kimball High school posted this video on Instagram. They visited our Adoption Fair a few weekends ago and this wonderful video resulted. Their intro said, “Take a look inside of the Animal Rescue of Tracy, where there are animals in need and looking for a loving home!! 🤍 @aceclubkhs” We have also recently been asked for information about ART by Journalism class students at Mountain House High School for an assignment & a student Care Club has formed at Mtn House High School as well. JOIN US TODAY! We have so many DESERVING cats/kittens waiting to go home with YOU! You can take home a STUDY BUDDY for the family and during September our TABBIES over 4 months old are 1/2 off their Adoption Fees.

MEET LILY AND HER BABIES who are now just 6 days old! LILY was found in an encampment for the unhoused ready to give birth. She was cared for with a number of other dogs — any one that could be the DAD! When it was apparent Lily was not able to safely give birth she was rushed by some amazing RESCUERS to Venetian Veterinary Hospital for a C-Section delivery. Lily had 8 beautiful babies, tho sadly in the first few days after being born, two puppies passed away. (This sometimes happens with newborn kittens & puppies no matter all our love and support.) LILY and her 6 babies are being cared for by a wonderful FOSTER and will not be available for adoption until they are at least 8 weeks old. LILY will also be looking for her “soft place to land” once the puppies are weaned. In the meantime….THIS IS WHAT RESCUE IS ALL ABOUT! We can’t help the “smallest of the small” dogs & cats and those in CRISIS and/or ABANDONED without our COMMUNITY. We need: * FOSTERS * VOLUNTEERS * DONATIONS (supplies & $$$) * ADOPTERS * SPONSORS * SUPPORTERS (to attend our fundraising events AND to “spread the word”) Keep FOLLOWING LILY and her family HERE and if you can help, ASK HOW! LILY is a great Mom and is doing so much better than when she was found. She is TIMID and is slowly learning to TRUST people again. She is also getting better nutrition and it shows in her face!
