Dedicated to the rescue, nurturing and adoption of companion animals In 2003, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full-fledged, independent, non-profit rescue.

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In our existence we have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for over 5000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations. Animal Rescue of Tracy supports Trap, Neuter, and Release of feral cats howev

er we are not a feral cat rescue. All feral cat concerns should be directed to the City of Tracy Animal Services Department. Animal Rescue of Tracy encourages the spay/neuter of all cats and dogs and does outreach to educate the Community about its benefits.

💕💕 Want to TREAT your Valentine to a night out in Downtown Tracy? Join the Tracy Dog Girls Rescue for BINGO at 6pm Thursday, 2/13/25, in the Upper Room restaurant. This is a great way to Celebrate Valentine’s Day and help adoptable DOGS. You can have DINNER while you play and if you’re lucky win a bit of CASH.

If you can’t join this month’s fun, Animal Rescue of Tracy is partnering with the Tracy Dog Girls Rescue on March 13, 2025 for a night of BINGO with a St. Patrick’s Day theme. SAVE THE DATE to join us.

And how about joining Tracy Senior Association the DAY AFTER Valentine’s Day for their Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at Applebees? You can show your Valentine they are special by “cooking breakfast” for them as they start their weekend activities. Animal Rescue of Tracy has provided an amazing “Furbaby Themed” RAFFLE BASKET for this event. All proceeds go toward helping Tracy Seniors remain independent. 💕💕

PUPDATES on the CANINE FOSTERS currently in ART.

LOGAN came by on Sunday and he is doing extremely well with his training. He was very much the “gentleman” when he met everyone. He’ll be ready for his forever home soon.

SANDY spent time both Saturday & Sunday. She hasn’t had much interest in her since her return, so she will begin training classes to help her become a “Canine Good Citizen”.

MAMA DOG HAS A NAME! With the help of Sunday’s team of JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS, she is now COOKIE (actually “Cookies and Cream”). She has 5 very healthy puppies and is a really great Mom. Now that we have a “theme”, the puppies will be named after types of Cookies (see what we did there?). Right now they are a “puppy pile”, but as they get older (they are approximately 2 weeks old right now) we will share individual pictures.

FOSTERS NEEDED! If it weren’t for two AMAZING Foster Families stepping forward, this petite Mama & her 5, 10-day old puppies left in a box in the yard of a Good Samaritan AND these two baby kittens with Upper Respiratory Infections would not be SAFE tonight.

Please, Please, Please …. consider opening your ❤️ and HOME to care for an adoptable cat/kitten or dog/puppy. ART provides all supplies and medical & you provide the “safe place to land”. We can’t continue to SAVE LIVES without YOUR help!

It was a good weekend for ADOPTIONS. Of the 6 cats adopted, 3 were agreeable to a “photo op”. We have cats in the Petsmart Adoption Fair the next 2weeks, so drop on by.

TODAY saw 5 cats & 1 puppy find their “Furever” homes! We didn’t get pictures of every adoption, but here are CHEESE & SOPHIE with their new families. Also adopted were: Lily, Buffy, Malibu and Jackson!

Sadly, Sophie’s Sister, Sandy, is back with us thru no fault of hers. She is only 5 months old and is energetic and loving as most 5 month old puppies are, but with a 2 1/2 year old toddler in the home, it became apparent to the family that the two could not coexist. She did very well with the older siblings in the house.

Sandy will be available for Meet & Greets NEXT WEEKEND and her bio will be online this week.

LOOKING FOR SOME FUN that helps Adoptable Dogs? Join the Tracy Dog Girls Rescue for BINGO at 6pm tonight in the Upper Room restaurant in Downtown Tracy!

All Rescues are struggling to cover expenses and this is a great way to enjoy a few hours out and help adoptable DOGS. You can even have DINNER while you play and if you’re lucky win a bit of CASH.

Animal Rescue of Tracy needs FOSTERS to open their homes and hearts to adoptable cats & dogs. In the City of Tracy (population of over 100K people) PLUS another 20-30K in the new City of MOUNTAIN HOUSE and the residents of unincorporated Tracy that we provide service to, it would be AMAZING if there were 30-40 families/individuals who would become fosters.

Animal Rescue of Tracy provides all medical care & supplies and a foster provides the LOVE. We can only RESCUE as many cats & dogs as we have foster homes for them to go and those not rescued, fostered and ultimately adopted are at risk of being KILLED!

We expect another DIFFICULT “Kitten Season” in 2025 because of our MILD WINTER, so we are recruiting NOW. We’ve taken in litters of young kittens with no Moms & PREGNANT Moms ready to give birth, over the past few weeks, so the NEED IS REAL! We will hold our annual BOTTLE BABY FOSTER TRAINING in the coming weeks, if you are interested in helping the smallest in need.

TODAY is “Kiss A Ginger Day”! Presently we have very few “Ginger (orange)” cats available for adoption, but MALIBU is still looking for a “forever” home, as well as some WONDERFUL Tabbies, Black, and Grey cats. We have more Gingers recently brought into ART that are not ready just yet, so if “Ginger” is your preference stay tuned!

It’s only natural to wonder what our RESCUE LEGACY will be when we are no longer physically able to care for homeless animals, and then THIS happens….. The ACE Club of Kimball High school posted this video on Instagram. They visited our Adoption Fair a few weekends ago and this wonderful video resulted. Their intro said, “Take a look inside of the Animal Rescue of Tracy, where there are animals in need and looking for a loving home!! 🤍 @aceclubkhs” We have also recently been asked for information about ART by Journalism class students at Mountain House High School for an assignment & a student Care Club has formed at Mtn House High School as well.
