Dedicated to the rescue, nurturing and adoption of companion animals In 2003, Animal Rescue of Tracy became a full-fledged, independent, non-profit rescue.

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. In our existence we have rescued, spayed/neutered, and found homes for over 5000 cats and dogs. We rescue animals from the local shelter and work with the public in select abandonment situations. Animal Rescue of Tracy supports Trap, Neuter, and Release of feral cats howev

er we are not a feral cat rescue. All feral cat concerns should be directed to the City of Tracy Animal Services Department. Animal Rescue of Tracy encourages the spay/neuter of all cats and dogs and does outreach to educate the Community about its benefits.

4 days until New Years Eve. The time to protect your pets is NOW! If interested in microchipping check with your Vet or visit Pet Advocate during their “Vaccine Clinic” hours, noon - 3pm daily. Just as many pets are lost New Years Eve as on the 4th of July and many never find their way home.

Our Adoption Fair in the West Valley Mall is OPEN TODAY, December 28th & TOMORROW December 29th . We have some WONDERFUL “furbabies” looking for homes, our Special Adoption Event pricing is in place until the 31st, and SOPHIE is still looking for her FOREVER HOME and will be present for meet & greets.

Do your Christmas wrapping supplies need a “home”?

DONATE THEM — instead of storing them — to Animal Rescue of Tracy to use at our 2025 Gift Wrap Fundraiser. Bring them to our weekend Adoption Fairs (Saturday 11am-4pm or Sunday noon-4pm) or contact us for drop off or pick-up options. Donations like yours helped us raise almost $3000 at this year’s Gift Wrap Fundraiser.

It’s Christmas Eve & we just completed our 3-day Gift Wrap Fundraiser. THANK YOU to the volunteers of all ages who took time from their Christmas preps to help raise funds we will use to care for adoptable cats & dogs until adoption. And a very special THANK YOU to the individuals who brought their gifts to us to wrap & generously donated.

TODAY IS DAY 3 of our GIFT WRAP FUNDRAISER!!!

“Santa’s Elves” will be ready to wrap ALL PRESENTS, no matter the size or shape BEFORE 10 am TODAY! (The West Valley Mall opens at 10 am, but we’ll be ready by 9:30am if you want to start EARLY!). You can even drop them off and come back later. We are “FULL SERVICE ELVES”.

If you’re wondering how well we “Elves” wrap, here’s what was posted by a guest yesterday and a great picture of her wrapped gifts.

“If you need your gifts wrapped in Tracy check out Animal Rescue of Tracy. Their elves are hard at work today gift wrapping! They did such an amazing job, were faster than I could be and all donations are going straight to the animals. Check them out, they are at the mall near Santa until 9pm 🎄”

We WRAP until 6PM CHRISTMAS EVE, then it’s off to the “NORTH POLE” for some well deserved rest until next year.

We’ve adjusted our hours to coincide with West Valley Mall hours of operation.

* Tonight we close at 7pm versus 9pm.

Today is the LAST DAY before Christmas that we are open! (We reopen 12/28/24.) We will have many cats/kittens, plus Lily & Sophie available to meet their FOREVER families.

IF you are hoping to SURPRISE someone with a new “furry friend”, bring them with you. An adopted cat/kitten or dog/puppy is a COMMITMENT for the LIFETIME of the pet, not an “until I get too busy” or “it’s not tiny & cute anymore” adoption!

Animal Rescue of Tracy and over 30 local non-profits were honored to receive generous monetary donations from the Central Valley Association of Realtors Tracy Branch this morning . For many, many years the CVAR has been giving back to the Tracy community in this way and ART is so grateful they support our mission to find homes for adoptable cats & dogs.

Today’s “special guest” at the event was MISS LILY, who is still looking for her “furever” home. She was a huge hit in her elf hat!

Here are photos of the deserving non-profits receiving donations (it was a large group) Miss Lily is back right in the arms of her foster Susan Corbett and Medical Coordinator, Sharon Ferriera, who along with ART President, Julie Selner, accepted the donation check.

This weekend NINE lucky kitties found their “Home For The Holidays”. Monarch, Admiral & Proscuitto were not inclined to have their photos taken, but we captured Adoption Day SMILES for the other 6, and their new families.

On Sunday, 12/22/24, we begin our annual GIFT WRAP FUNDRAISER Center Court by SANTA in the Mall. VOLUNTEERS wrap your gifts for a donation to Animal Rescue of Tracy. Sunday, 12/8/24, we celebrated the ADOPTION of 5 more of our cats/kittens — many to past adopters or ART volunteers. Most notable was sweet BUTTERFLY, who came into ART pregnant and has been waiting patiently for her FOREVER home.

From her Foster Mom…. Butterfly was finally adopted! The right person came along, someone who was charmed by kitten-crazy energy in an adult-sized package and not at all put off by her sweetly sassy personality. Congratulations, sweetheart. You're finally out of confinement and on to bigger and better things.

Butterfly was not in the mood for a “photo op”, but the other 4 kittens were, so, ENJOY these “Gottcha Day” pictures. 😁

This does not mean we are out of kitties, we are still just under 140 in Rescue having accepted a litter found dumped at a feral feeding station by a Good Samaritan who sldo agreed to foster them, so come to next weekend’s Adoption Fair 12/14-12/15 and celebrate YOUR new “furbaby’s “Gotcha Day”!

HAPPY “GOTCHA DAY” to SIX cats/kittens who found their FOREVER HOMES yesterday — including siblings Starsky & Hutch who were adopted together. They went home with a great family and a terrific Adoption Day THANK YOU bag filled with brand new items donated by our generous community.

We are open noon-5pm TODAY (12/8/24) and still have about 140 cats/kittens in Rescue with all cats/kittens over 6 months having their adoption fee reduced.

We have many wonderful “furbabies” looking for a “Home For The Holidays”. Consider opening your hearts & homes to them & SHARE our posts with your family & friends. It would be amazing if the over 150 cats & dogs we have in Rescue at this moment could find their “furever” homes by Christmas. 🐾🐾🐾

Beginning this Saturday, 12/7/24, and thru 12/31/24, all cats/kittens 6 MONTHS AND OLDER have their adoption fees REDUCED to $75 each. You can shower your new “furbaby” with holiday gifts with the $$$ you save and he/she will shower you with “FUREVER” LOVE.

We are CLOSED the weekend of 12/21 -12/22 to hold our GIFT WRAP FUNDRAISER, which runs 12/22-12/24. More info to follow once we finalize a GREAT LOCATION inside the West Valley Mall, so stay tuned on Monday, 12/9/24. Once we have a location, we’ll need VOLUNTEERS to GIFT WRAP all 3 days. Students can receive Community Service Hours by helping with this FUNDRAISER! Sign ups begin 12/9/24.

This past weekend, a member of the ACE CLUB at Kimball High School “captured” our adoptable cats & dogs & volunteers in action at our Weekend Adoption Fair.

We have so many wonderful cats & kittens ready for adoption and MaMa Lily and some of her pups will be coming by as well. Lily is ready to find her FOREVER home and next week the puppies can safely meet potential adopters. For their safety they are “just visiting” this weekend. It’s only natural to wonder what our RESCUE LEGACY will be when we are no longer physically able to care for homeless animals, and then THIS happens….. The ACE Club of Kimball High school posted this video on Instagram. They visited our Adoption Fair a few weekends ago and this wonderful video resulted. Their intro said, “Take a look inside of the Animal Rescue of Tracy, where there are animals in need and looking for a loving home!! 🤍 @aceclubkhs” We have also recently been asked for information about ART by Journalism class students at Mountain House High School for an assignment & a student Care Club has formed at Mtn House High School as well.
