Iowa State Fair begins in just a few short days! Our staff has made quite a few memories over the years at the fair and here are just a few of their favorite things to do while at the fair.

Dr. Abbey • Found a few oldies from when she was showing at the Iowa State Fair.

Lora • Enjoyed her first State Fair in 2017 and enjoys seeing the tractors.

Rylie • Enjoys sitting at her Great Grandpas bench and watching the people.

Arielle • Enjoys watching the cattle show and seeing all the animals.

Curious to know if your heifers are ai bred or bull bred? Dying to know if they are carrying a heifer or bull calf?

Anytime after 55 and before 100 days of age we can use the ultrasound to answer these questions in cattle.

Dr. Knaack took the opportunity to show 4Hers with breeding heifers at the Tama County Fair what was going on in the reproductive tracts of their projects. Some found babies, some could tell the s*x, others were too early to tell. All were challenged to “be the vet” and make a guess at what they saw.

I consider us very fortunate to have Dr. Schlesser spend time at our clinic when she could do so many other things. One thing she loves to do is drive her team of horses!

Here you’ll see Maggie and Molly driven by Dr. Schlesser’s son in the Buchanan county fair. What a sight to see!

It’s always awesome to see our doctors and staff really enjoying their lives outside of the clinic.

So great to see a newborn calf in the green grass.

The break in the rain yielded an awesome calving call with a backwards but alive calf.

Good monitoring by the owners and a chute set up and ready to go. This guy popped right out with a little help and was trying to stand just minutes after birth.
