Hi everyone! My name is Ron Anderson and I am the owner and head trainer at K9 Dogs Academy in LaPorte County. I grew up and graduated from Krueger High School before entering the Navy.

Since being back in LaPorte, I’ve spent 32 years at the Indiana Department of Corrections (IDOC) and 24 years as an Emergency Responder.

In my free time, I’ve developed a love for working with dogs. I became a certified dog trainer and currently specialize in basic obedience, personal protection, drug detection, emotional support, and off-leash reactivity from puppies to adult dogs.

How much exercise does your dog get daily? Most people respond with “They are outside a lot / run around the yard.”

Although this is activity for your dog. For them to exercise effectively, the human has to be involved. The human has to be facilitating the process by guiding them through “exercise play”.

A dog running around on its own is not going to push itself past its own limits. It’s the human that strives them for a higher level of fitness.

Here are some key advantages to “place” command:
