UFD 3 unsexed baby peacocks. Hatched May 28th. Father is a pied, mother Indian blue.

Baby peachicks are much more pricey than than chicks at Tractor Supply. Think 15 times more. Peahens only lay eggs once a year (usually only lay 5-6 eggs) and are much harder to raise. So please only message if you're serious. TIA

Today I own the horses I used to dream about, because I wasn’t afraid to let go of those who didn’t check all the boxes for me.

This doesn’t mean they weren’t amazing horses, it simply means I believed they could be more successful with someone else.

>>>If you never let go of what is, you may never find out what could be.

What a good re-share. 🥰🙂

Absolutely gorgeous super leafy 2024 Colorado alfalfa. This is seriously the nicest alfalfa I've ever received. And yes..it is 1st cut 2024. This us from my 6 year alfalfa supplier. The weather was Absolutely perfect for an early cut so no big stems like you normally would get.
Tons of leaf, but it still flakes off..doesn't fall apart like most super alfalfa leafy bales might.
And these bales are averaging 70lbs, some feel like more. As of now, I will only be selling half this load. They are in 21 bales bundles. $22 ea. Guaranteed zero waste!
All my hay is guaranteed against weeds, mold and for platability. Located in Travelers Rest SC
Call/text 864-722-2289 for info or pick up arrangements.
More pics and video in commemts.

After seeing and learning about Accuscope while I was in Oklahoma during the Pink Buckle I was hoping someone in the upstate would start doing it. I heard about Jessica Fisher and her great work
via 2 very respected horsewomen, Priscilla Hubbard Heyward and Janelle Green, and reached out to her to see if I could get her to come my direction.
She will be here at my barn in Travelers Rest for accuscope treatments on April 9th at 9am if anybody is interested in hauling in.
I would suggest you research accuscope therapy. I was very impressed when I spoke with different people who used it in OK and were thrilled with the results.
I do not get a discount or any special treatment for additional horses. It's just something I'm excited to use on my horses and want to offer it to others while she's in this area.

First comment from first buyer of the new alfalfa/sainfoin hay!

03/09/2024

**Update.. first client that bought and fed some said her horse left her alfalfa for it .**
Most of you that really know me, know I'm a hay n**i.. always on the hunt for good safe quality forage. I have researched the heck out of this hay and am excited to bring it here to SC.

Wyoming Alfalfa/Sainfoin hay 3x3x8 750lb bales $200 ea. Most of the bales will be heavier on the alfalfa, but some may have up to 50% sainfoin grass.
What is Sainfoin grass? Sainfoin is grown out west in high desert areas. It's not a grass like orchard , fescue or timothy, it is actually a legume like alfalfa. AND.. it has many added health benefits!
Good for ulcers, horses with loose stools, horses prone to gas colic, has omegas, is naturally non gmo and is proven to be a natural dewormer. And.. in most cases is more platabile than alfalfa.
We have fed it to all 14 horses at our farm and they are cleaning it up!
Below is just an excerpt from some articles about sainfoin hay.
Please.. if you have any questions about it look it up there's lots of information out there!

Top benefits of Sainfoin for horses:

• The higher tannin level disrupts mechanisms that create gas during digestion so sainfoin is non-gas producing. Limiting gas production along the gastrointestinal tract is not simply a matter of comfort for the horse, but may reduce incidence of gas

• The higher condensed tannins in sainfoin bind to the proteins to protect them during the digestive process. This results in increased utilization of the protein throughout the body. In horses this results in better topline, more effective maintenance of topline/muscling when the horse is in hard work, and improved hoof horn.

• Sainfoin is high in Omega-3 fatty acids for natural anti-inflammatory support.

• Low sugar

• Low starch

• More palatable than alfalfa. If you have a horse who is off their feed or refuses to eat a supplement, incorporating sainfoin often gets them going.

• Sainfoin has anthelmintic properties and has been shown to help control strongyles in cattle, sheep and goats. It has been assumed that it will work the same in horses (see attached article).

Jr is by far my biggest hay snob and the first test subject of our new load of alfalfa/sainfoin grass from WY. So far so good!
Sainfoin grass is actually a legume like alfalfa..not like orchard, timothy, fescue etc. Has lots of great healthy benefits! I'll be posting more about it soon.. but go ahead and look it up!!

Down to only 2 horses to feed, so letting go of a few more of my personal big squares.

----‐-----------------------------
Nice 50/50 western orchard/alfalfa mix. Bales weigh approx 950lbs.

Worried about not being able to handle them? We can load them on any size truck and if you have no way to unload them with a machine you just cut the strings and take them off flake by flake and stack them that way they flake off very nice!
One bale equals 19 avg 50lb bales and comes out to just over $13 a bale if you were buying individual average 2 string bales. Only 5 available. $250 ea

Always educational myself on hay. Any if my customers ever use or have any experience with sanfoin hay? They refer to it as grass when mixed with alfalfa, but it is actually a legume. Looks like it has great benefits to horses and is supposed to be very platable as well...
Hmmm, may have to give it a try.

Bad news, I currently have a hold on selling any more alfalfa or my personal Alfalfa mix big squares due to low stock. I have been out of town for a month I have to get a good count on what i have left after I get back next week.

However, Thierry Viard (the trainer at my barn) has got some 3x3x3 750lb bales of orchard (70%)/alf (30%) alf mix for sale for $170 ea.

Please text him for more info and pick up. Do not call, he will not answer numbers he doesn't not know. 252-205-5949

Alfalfa is finally on its way from Colorado! This is his 4th cutting, said its the best theyve put up in a couple of years. should be pretty darn nice.
Last load bales averaged 60lbs. Same price as last load, $21 ea.

11/17/2023

I have 1 bundle of the Colorado alfalfa I can sell. $21 ea.

11/16/2023

If anybody is interested, there are 5 bottom bales that came in the load. Meaning the bottoms are pretty icky. I can't feed them because I feed the whole bale at once inside of a hay net so I can't pick the yucky stuff out. I will sell these for $190 ea.

11/15/2023

The big squares (3x3x8) are here. Nice 50/50 western orchardgrass/alfalfa. Bales weigh 900+ pounds. I have not opened one up myself yet as I have been out of state since it was delivered, but my barn trainer and 2 customers have fed them and said it's beautiful hay and the horses ate every bit. I will get pics and videos soon.
They are $240 ea. This comes out to 18 50lb bales @ $13 a bale.
If you don't have the equipment to unload them and move them around you can still manage them. The bales flake off like a regular bale. You can cut the strings in the back of your truck or trailer and just carry the flakes into your storage area and stack them up in there.
I'm only going to be selling 15 at this time.

10/25/2023

For those of you wanting some nice western orchardgrass/alfalfa mix, if you can handle big squares (3×3×8. 900lbs), ill have a load here soon. I will only be selling approx 20 bales. If you don't have the equipment to handle it, you can open the bale and load it by flakes into your hay storage area. I'll price it once I get shipping confirmed.

What a great podcast! I get a lot of people asking me about hay tests. I say unless the farmer does a true hay test, which involves taking a core sample from a percentage of his supply, not just grabbing handfuls off the outside of bales where layers have already been exposed to the environment, you can't trust the test.
I use sight, smell and touch as my #1 hay test.

Listen to this episode from The Equine Connection Podcast on Spotify. In this week's podcast, we talk about how to visually appraise your horse hay and what it means for your animals. This is because high quality hay is critically important for providing your horses with not only essential nutrients...

Thanks all!

I am doing a random draw for 5 bales of Colorado western alfalfa to raise money for a good friend that is struggling to cover upcoming vet bills for a special pet recently diagnosed with a life threatening disease.
I have had to personally deal with something similar with my heart dog and know how emotionally and financially crushing it can be.
This is really nice alfalfa! Bales are running avg of 60lbs and have been selling quickly at $21 a bale.
I am starting at 50 spots at $10 ea. If I fill those 50 spots by this Saturday at 8am, I can bring the hay to the GTBRA show at Clemson for the winner to pick up. Otherwise, the winner will have to pick up in Travelers Rest unless we can meet at another show. If not full by Saturday, I will do the draw Friday, Sept 15th at noon.
I will add more spots if need be since this is a fundraiser. 100% of the proceeds will go towards the pets vet bills.
I will send paypal/venmo info once spots are full.
