Well, I wasn't going to order any more alfalfa until the 2025 crops were in but my phone has been ringing off the hook for it and I'm even going though my personal stash faster than I usually do. Assuming due to the early cold weather, the hurricane and the wild fires in WY, there is more demand than supply. I finally found some that looks worth bring in. Hopefully will have it here shortly after Christmas. Bundles and 3x3x8s. Price will be finalized once delivered.

As of now, I am out of any hay to sell. I may get some in after the new year, sorry for any inconvenience. If you are in need of a good orchard/timothy, please reach out to Stuart Beam at Beam Farms. He's in Rutherfordton, but he grows his own hay and is an honest person about what he has.

I have I want to say six to seven bales of Orchard Grass that has some damage to the ends. I would say 3/4 of the Bales are probably still good to feed two horses. They're the same ones I have set aside for the zoo they sell normally for $14 I will sell them for $10 each if anybody is interested in getting those you must take all of them. Unfortunately when the hurricane came through our door was open like 2 in where they were at so the rain went in there and just got small sections of these bales. I also have six bales of an orchard Timothy alfalfa mix. They were bales that we bought with money that was donated for the hurricane relief and I am just reselling them for what we paid for them which is a $14 each and using that money to buy some human supplies that are needed badly for the cold weather. They sell at the store that sells them for almost $16.
I am also open for sales again for alfalfa. I've got small squares that are averaging 65 lb for $22 each and I've got the big squares that are 850 lb for $250 each.
I am going to be getting a load of alfalfa for Orchard Nick's out of Michigan hopefully by mid to the end of November it's there I've just got to make room for it here any questions you can reach out to me at 864-722-2289

We need a water tanker/old firetruck/water trailer that can be used to bring water to a location in Swannanoa.
I know that's a hard request but if you have one we can borrow, my husband, a retired firefighter can drive it , or you can bring it, we can pull it.
This is for a group made up of first responders/military people we have found that is really getting help up into the hollers. Please share.
This post is being made at 1420 hours on 10-11.

Hay and misc items fundraiser via random draw for the children of domestic violence victim, Amber Riddle. Marietta SC.

On Aug 13th, at 845pm, I received a random text message from my dog groomer of over 3 years , Amber Riddle. Amber's message to me stated she would not be to work the next day. I was out of town that week and didn't have an appointment set up and thinking nothing of it, I sent back the short message "Wrong person?".
That was the last I would ever hear from her...if, it even was her. Someone sent the message from her phone.

It was not until the following Thursday, Aug 22nd, that I came across a banner on a FB neighbor page for a fundraiser for 3 children tragically left behind after an incident involving their parents took both of their lives. When I took a better look at the flyer..I realized the mother that had died was Amber. I was shocked and assumed it was from some kind of a motor vehicle accident. I called a mutual friend, whom also is one of Amber's neighbors and was told through tears that Amber had been shot by her husband, who then turned the gun on himself, resulting in a murder su***de.
I dont know what led up to it. I don't care what led up to it. Knowing every detail will not bring these children's mother back to love and hold them.
Amber was a great person and hundreds of clients that used her grooming skills over the years knew she was a compassionate person, kind to people and animals. Ive already heard stories about how she would hold checks for payment, go to someones home as they were disabled and couldn't get their dog to her shop, and would take dogs other groomers wouldn't because of being too mean. I had met her daughter and middle son several times at the shop and enjoyed talking to them! They were happy, very well mannered children.

As a police officer, too many times I had the unfortunate experience of witnessing first hand , the crushing blow and guilt something like this does to a family. I've seen children acting like zombies out of shock. What can you say to them, except over and over..Its not your fault...its not your fault

Having dealing with something this tragic with strangers is bad enough. Having it happen to someone I personally knew feels even worse. We weren't friends that went out to eat, or go shopping, or talk on the phone, but we talked in the shop about many things. She trusted me to show me where the hidden key was so I could pick up my pups if she wasn't there and not steal, and I trusted her with my 4 legged kids.
Ive heard through conversations with other people, neighbors and friends, the children and extended family is having a really difficult time and could really use financial help.
There is a fundraiser for the family this Saturday, Aug 31.
I am hoping to get the ok from the person in charge of the fundraiser to gather items to raffle off at the event, whether it be gift cards, services, horseback riding lessons, etc. If you have anything you'd like to donate, please send me a pm or a text.

I personally will be putting together another hay raffle/random draw to raise money for them. I will raffle off 10 bales (60-65lbs ea) of very high quality Colorado alfalfa. This is the same alfalfa we supply to the Greenville Zoo that sells for $22 ea. Tickets will be $10 ea. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Riddle children.

I am also contemplating 2 additional raffles
One for 1 big 3x3x8 850lb bale of Colorado alfalfa that sells for $250 ea with tickets being $25 each.

And... one bale of my Supreme Wyoming orchardgrass everyone has been asking about that I currently am not selling. These bales weigh 1250lbs and the ones I did sell went for $325 ea. I have only sold 4 of these to outside people as most of it stays at our barn for our horses. It is true horse crack. Tickets for this bale will be $40 ea.

For the 2 big squares I must get enough tickets sold (less than 10) to just cover my cost of the bale and the shipping, then all the proceeds after will go to the Riddle children. If I don't sell enough spots for the big squares, I will give you a choice of rolling some or all of what you paid over to the alfalfa, or a refund. 100% proceeds of the 10 bales of alfalfa will go to the Riddle children regardless.

I will add things as I go. My goal is to raise $5000. This is very hefty amount and I may not be able to get it done by Aug 31, but I will let the family and the person that is putting together the trust know.

I will set a deadline of Sept 15 at the latest to do the random draw for the hay.
I will start with numbers 1-25 and add on as necessary from there.

I can start accepting payments for spots on the hay now via venmo, paypal or zelle. Just let me know which number(s) you would like via text message

And will be working on getting other donated items. Some may be raffled at the benefit, others online. Will depend on items and interest .
Thank you everyone for all your support. Domestic violence is so horrible. It's is a secret many families keep hidden for too long until it's too late. Please, if you or someone you know or suspect is a victim of domestic violence at any level, reach out to your local law enforcement agency for help. They can send you in the right direction for help

We have another load of alfalfa coming in so I can release some what I've been storing for the zoo for those of you that have been inquiring. 65-70lb bales. Absolutely beautiful leafy, very small fine stems. $22 ea.
We will be also getting a few more bales of the big squares but we are currently out of those.

07/10/2024

For my orchardgrass lovers out there. I have a load of some Supreme plus og 3x4x8 1200lb bales from Wyoming arriving within the next 2 weeks. I will only be selling about 15 of these bales. This is as good if not better than the really nice ones I had from Wyoming a couple of years ago. If price for shipping comes in at what I am estimating, they will be around $350 ea. These are 1200lb bales which if broken down per pound, would be $15 a bale if they were 50lb bales. And there should be zero waste! I do have a hay test done the right way in comments.

06/09/2024

All sold!
I have nice soft straight orchardgrass available. The same hay we supply to the Greenville Zoo. 50lb bales for 14 ea.

UFD 3 unsexed baby peacocks. Hatched May 28th. Father is a pied, mother Indian blue.

Baby peachicks are much more pricey than than chicks at Tractor Supply. Think 15 times more. Peahens only lay eggs once a year (usually only lay 5-6 eggs) and are much harder to raise. So please only message if you're serious. TIA
