Thoughts for today...

"We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope." -MLK, Jr.

This quote aligns with our goal to accept that unfortunate things will happen as part of the life experience, but we can highlight and focus on hope and finding solutions despite the disappointments we face. Animals come into our care due to a variety of circumstances. The amount of time they spend at the shelter ranges from a few minutes to several months. No matter the situation, we strive for positive outcomes.

We're hopeful that 2025 will be the year we get our cat population under control through continued success with our community cat TNR program. We hope residents will reach out to us for help with outdoor cats that need to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated to promote public health and safety and reduce the number of kittens suffering outdoors in the coming months. Send us a message or text our office to request more information on ways we can help.

UPDATE 1/18/2025
Returned to Owner

The dog was secured by officers without further incident and her owner came to claim her. Thank you for the quick response.

This is a good reminder to be especially diligent in securing your dogs that are known to be afraid of strangers. Fear aggression creates a dangerous situation for the animal and the people trying to get them back where they belong.
---

Urgent!! Do you know me?

This dog is acting very aggressive, and we need to locate the owner immediately.

If you are the owner or know where it belongs, please call dispatch at 435-856-7024.

Returned to Owner ๐Ÿฅณ

We've said it before, but this is another friendly reminder to make sure your pets' microchips are registered to you and the contact information is current. If your pets aren't microchipped, get it done!
---

Do you know me?

I've been on a crazy adventure today in the engine of a truck, and could use some help finding my way back home. My people love me enough to get me a microchip, but I guess they forgot to register it with their contact information. The truck owner thinks I live in Archibald Estates in Tremonton. Please contact the shelter if you know where I belong.

Do you know me?

I was found all alone at the Santa Ana Catholic church on 600 N in Tremonton on New Years Eve. A good Summaritan heard me crying and kept watching to see if my people were with me, but no one ever came back for me. I'm at the shelter now, but they're trying to find my family. Please let them know if you recognize me.

UPDATE 1/6/2025
Found safe!! ๐Ÿฅณ

Bruno was located at a residence 3.6 miles from where he went missing and returned to his family tonight! It appears he likely followed the canal from Tremonton into north Garland. Thank you all for keeping an eye out and sharing our posts.
---

Have you seen me?

Bruno went missing while visiting family for the holiday. He got spooked by fireworks and ran off. He isn't familiar with the area, so we're very concerned about him not knowing where to go. Please contact us if you have seen him. We'd love to get him back to his family.

Happy New Year 2025!

Wishing us all a refreshing New Year filled with dogs safely secured or on leashes, microchips and ID tags on pets in case they do slip away, respectful neighbors who clean up after their dogs, don't let them bark excessively, and update their vaccinations. We hope for continued support with the TNR program to humanely control our cat population, and a peaceful community that works together to promote health and wellbeing of the people and animals who live here.

Our office is closed today to allow employees to celebrate and recharge for the year ahead. If you have an animal issue that can not wait until we reopen tomorrow, please call dispatch at 435-856-7024. For matters that can wait, leave us a voicemail at 435-257-9545.

This is what it looks like to bring love home... times TWO!!

Last week we shared that Merry (now Shadow) got adopted for a sweet young boy as a much anticipated gift from his parents when what he wanted most for Christmas was a kitty. What we didn't mention in that update is that Joy caught their attention, activated her puppy dog eyes, and grabbed their heartstrings when they came to pick Shadow up from the shelter.

We mentioned that Joy and Shadow had met in the shelter and appeared fond of each other. We showed the parents how this cat and dog duo acted like long lost friends, and they even match!! They mentioned that they'd been considering adding a dog to their home as well and thought this positive interaction could make for an easier transition for the family and both animals.

The next day, they brought both of their adorable sons to meet Joy, and it was instant love all around. She was scheduled to get all her vetting done on Friday, so they came to pick her up from that appointment to take her home after officially adopting her! Joy (now Midnight) and Shadow are now in a loving home together where they'll be able to grow up with these two young boys and their wonderful parents who taught them that shelter animals can absolutely bring love home!

If you're in a position to adopt a pet, please consider adopting from a shelter or 501(c)(3) rescue. We currently have a darling Husky vetted and ready for adoption.

Have you adopted a pet from us or have a pet that "visited" the shelter this year?

Maybe you stopped by for our pet vaccination and microchip clinic this past summer.

Do you have a colony that we've helped you TNR and you've got pictures of them enjoying life as working cats?

Perhaps you have a pet that isn't an escape artist and we've never met them.

No matter the case, we would love to see your pets, community cats or livestock enjoying the holidays.

Happy animals of all kinds make us pawsitively delighted!

Adopt Me!

Noel is a sweet young Husky that came in as a stray and no owner showed up to claim her. She walks nicely on a leash and is doing great with waiting to go potty outside at the shelter. We've been able to help her interact with cats, dogs, and children, and she's been friendly in all encounters. She's feeling stressed in the shelter, and we really need to get her into a home or transferred to a rescue as quickly as possible. She's struggling with anxiety and doesn't want to eat much. This stress hasn't caused her to act out, but she has started to shut down a bit. We don't want this to get worse.

We got her spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Please help us find her the loving home she deserves.

Do you know me?

Here me out...I LOVE spinning in circles....a LOT! I spun myself so much I got tangled in the cable I was tied out on. I broke the cable and got it stuck in a stranger's yard. So embarrassing! An officer picked me up and got me untangled, but they don't know where my home is. Please contact the shelter if you know where I live.

UPDATE 12/20/2024
Adopted!! ๐Ÿฅณ

We had several people reach out wanting to give little Jingle a home! We've worked hard to streamline our adoption process to minimize the amount of time animals have to spend in the shelter if they're not claimed by an owner, but also send them to their new homes already spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Getting them adopted quickly after they're vetted helps this process tremendously. Thank you to everyone who follows and supports us in these efforts.๐Ÿพ
---

Adopt Me!

Jingle is wishing for a new family to ring in the new year on the right paw. She was born outdoors to a community cat. Her mama has been spayed to prevent more kittens and enjoys outdoor life, but sweet little Jingle would much rather snuggle humans and live a pampered life indoors. She's a perfect blend of snuggly and playful, ready to bring love into your home.

We've had her vetted, and she just needs a family to call her own.
