We love having visitors drop in and say Hi! 👋🏻
We’ve had so many fun and memorable experiences in this barn and arena! Clients that turn into family, new friendships built from strangers. I am grateful I get to work right in my own backyard every day and have my family nearby and my “office” right here where I love to be most. The best part of my day is when Stihl comes running in here to find me everyday when he comes home from school.
Thank you to all of you for following along, the constant support and kindness shown to all of us, and being apart of our community.
Special thanks also to the many amazing companies that keep our program running smoothly and all of us looking and feeling our best. It takes a village! 🤠

Thank you all.
Last fall I replaced my old system with a Cowtrac and I haven’t looked back. It’s been great and I love all the speeds and options it has available. So versatile and keeps practice days fun!
Anyone else ready for some warm Spring weather? ☀️
✨Tying a bowline knot two ways ✨ & - use a good quality halter and lead rope, it makes all the difference. All of mine in my program are from @weaverequine.
This week we are talking about tying good, solid, and safe knots for our horses. We are started with a simple “slip knot” find that reel previously.
I personally love and use a bowline which is what I’m teaching here. It’s secure and even if you have a mess happen, it’ll stay secure and always loosen so you can pull out and don’t have to cut your leadrope.
Checkout the slow motion reel for tying a slip knot if you’re a beginner learning, and two slow motions of the bowline shown here. That makes it a little easier to follow along. Hope they help.
If you’re shopping over at Weaver for some new halters, code:

This week we are talking about tying good, solid, and safe knots for our horses. We are starting with a simple “slip knot”. It’s a great and fast knot that stays secure when needed. The only downfall to it is when you have a smart horse that figures out how to pull the tail and untie themselves. 🤣 As I show here, you can get around that by taking the tail back through the loop, but then if it gets pulled tight- it’s no longer a slip knot. So keep that in mind when choosing this knot.

We like to keep things easy around here and believe sometimes less is more. These are a few of our daily go-tos that we feel keep our horses looking and feeling amazing.
🪣 Gotta have a @bossequineproducts for easy storage and packing around. I’ve really loved these.
🐴 @nutrenafeed is all we feed in our program. Their feed has never stopped impressing us with how well our horses do on it. Duke- looked absolutely incredible this year at the World Show.
✨ Daily Red and Daily Gold are only two of the many @redmondequine products we use and love. I carry their pastes with me on the road and use them for travel everywhere we go. Code:MARTYSIMPER20
😎 @formula707 products are all over in my barn. They customize formulas unique for each horse, and they’ve really helped keep my horses well rounded and feeling their best. I have called them several times to pick up their calming pellets as we pass through Denver on our way somewhere because they are my best tip for focused and calm horses under pressure. So many great products! Code: SIMPER15
I’d love to hear some of your favorite products and what your “must haves” are in your barn. Do you use any of these also?

I was very honored to be apart of this special tribute at the @officialaqha World Show in memory of so many people we all are missing so much.
Especially our little cowboy Oak. 💙
Thank you AQHA for taking the time to include this into the busy week. It means so much to all of us.

KC and I did a little Christmas shopping down at our local @ifacountrystores 🎁

You can’t go wrong when you’re filling your cart with great products from places like : @weaverequine, @absorbine, @redmondequine, and @bexsunglasses (I snuck those in for me).
Thanks for a dav of fun @tremonton.ifa and extra thanks to a lot of great products in our program that my horses really do love. 🎁🐴

🤠 Let’s talk about blankets and sheets-
- An easy way to measure : all you need is some good ol baling twine and a tape measure.
- A few little tips and tricks about blanketing and keeping it in place to not only keep your horse safe, but also keep your blanket from being ripped and destroyed easily.
My go to blankets that I love, especially in our cold 🥶 Utah temps are @weaverequine. They are durable and great quality and I’ve had great luck with them holding up and doing a great job protecting my horses.
I’ll link my favorites in my stories.

We were really excited to get these custom Synergy saddle pads from Weaver. We had matching ones made for the 3 of us, with Oaks brand on them. They turned out beautiful, and we absolutely love them.
These pads are so great! I’ve never had a sore horse when I’ve used them, even on the long hard days. I love how they really pad and protect and also soak in any moisture that could cause chaffing and rubbing. The other bonus is they are very affordable and their quality exceeds a lot of the very expensive other pads I’ve tried. They are a win/win.
I also have a code for you to use on any orders from Weaver:
MARTY10
These custom pads are so fun to change up with your brand, initials, or something special like we did. Make great gifts too!
Have you tried them? What do you think?

This special Thank You has been on our hearts for several weeks now. 💙 At Oaks benefit roping, our dear friend @rodwardbits and his niece Annie Wansgard had worked together to build this beautiful bit to auction off. We were so touched and appreciative and loved the kind gesture.
To our surprise, after the benefit we were gifted with not only the bit from my good buddies @coryrasmussen8 & @kentthurgood , but also this beautiful headstall made by @wahlenkelly and this special keepsake box made by @keykey121. 🙏❤️🩹 Our hearts are so grateful for all the good, generous, and talented people we are blessed to have in our lives. We will cherish this forever.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts all of you. ❤️
You can see- even Stihl loves it.
