It is time for our annual customer appreciation ski night at Beaver Mountain. Friday January 10th. Tickets will be available for purchase at 4:30, $20.00 per person. Rentals will be available for purchase at 4:45. *There is a surface lift for little kids or newbies, all ages are welcome!!* The lodge will be open and you are welcome to bring your own food. No sledding or tubing. We hope you can join us for a fun night up on the mountain! Thank you to our wonderful community!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Have you ever heard of an umbilical hernia on a horse and wondered how they get them and do they need to be fixed?

Just like how we need regular dental check-ups, our four legged friends need them too. The health of a horse’s mouth greatly impacts its well-being, behavior, and performance.

** FUN FACT - Horses teeth never stop growing **

Because their lower jaw is narrower than their upper jaw, the constant grinding causes the teeth to become misshapen and sharp. This can cause ulcers on the cheeks and discomfort eating. Floating the teeth means filing down the sharp edges and smoothing the surface.
Some signs to look for if your horse needs a float are….

* Quidding (dropping large amounts of feed)
* Not wanting to eat hay/grain
* Tilting head to one side or the other
* Increased salivation
* Losing weight
* Asymmetric swelling (can be soft or hard)
* Resistant in on side of the bridle
* One sided nasal discharge with odor
* Bad odor coming from the mouth
