Reactivity is an emotional issue, and emotions cannot be trained away. So, why do we put so much time-consuming and costly effort into training when it mostly affects the dog's body but has little meaningful effect on their emotional experiences?

Here is what our new online course "Living with a Reactive Dog" can do for you:
🐶 Have you ever wondered what goes through your dog's mind when they do certain things? With ADB you have a chance to find out, as you learn how and why emotions affect your dog's behaviors
🐶 It helps you better understand your dog, especially during those stressful moments
🐶 You will learn how to identify and meet your dog's needs you never even knew they had. This is key to seeing your dog's "problem" behaviors either decrease or stop
🐶 You will learn how to help your dog feel safer before, during and after stress
🐶 Your relationship with your dog will reach a whole new level of wonderful

If not conventional training, then what is the ADB approach?
🐶 With its CARE First principles, ADB focuses on meeting needs (yours and your dog's) rather than coercion
🐶 With CARE First, ADB recognizes your need to offer emotional connection and support, and your dog's need to seek and accept CARE. Those needs are the essence of social experiences - when they go unfulfilled, the world feels unsafe
🐶 Since ADB does not promote conventional training, we do not use aversive tools or techniques, and we also don't rely on treats for rewards
🐶 Your relationship with your dog should be that of two companions who truly enjoy each other's company, rather than transactional and mechanical

How do I know this course is for me?
🐶 Most people have very busy lives, and the last thing they need is yet another chore. For conventional training to be somewhat effective, you will have to set time aside and make working with your dog a daily routine. Are you ready to commit to that?
🐶 Then there is ADB. Yes, the course will teach you a few new skills, but those skills don't require tedious, repetitive practice. Instead, the new skills are built into your already existing daily activities with your dog
🐶 Do you have an open, curious mind that wants to better understand "dog"? Perfect!
🐶 Are you tired of feeling frustrated, embarrassed, anxious or confused about your dog's meltdowns? Your feelings are absolutely valid, and you are not alone. However, it doesn't have to be that way. The more you know, the easier it will get

When you purchase this course, you will get:
🐶 Unlimited, life-time access to the course
🐶 8 primary chapters with more than 130 short but meaningful and easy-to-follow lessons
🐶 Our community and ADB Team support, should you decide to also join our Affective Dog Behavior Facebook group

Would you like to see the effectiveness of meeting a dog's needs? In these videos, Scott Stauffer/ADB spent some time with "reactive" shelter dogs in Amarillo Texas.

Overly excited and excitable dogs. Ball obsession. Laser light craze. What's behind it and what can we do?

In our last dopamine-based webinar, we focused more on lack of motivation; this time, we will take a closer look on the exact opposite: manic-like behaviors.

The webinar is on August 21st at 11 am MDT, and you can sign up right here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/960603991397?aff=oddtdtcreator

As always, this will be recorded, and the recording will be sent to all registered people just a few days after the live event. The recording will also be made available to our Community and One-on-One members at patreon.com/affectivedogbehavior

(if you don't mind recordings, our Patreon page is the most economical option, since you will have access to our growing video library for as low as $15/month - you can cancel at any time)

Please join us for more discussions on dopamine and what to do when dogs are highly stimulated or excited

Reminder: there are only two days left for you to sign up to this upcoming workshop webinar.

Motivation goes way beyond the treats you use or the games you play (though those are a couple of important ones to understand as well), which makes this webinar so important. Don't miss this opportunity to get to know more about your dog.

ALSO: What motivation related questions would you like to see addressed live during the event?
