The Good Food Project: Las Animas County, Colorado

The Good Food Project is a 3 acre working cooperative farm in Janson, on Hwy 12, just west of Trindad. with 3 acres. The farm is planted, maintained, and harvested by volunteers. This is a great opportunity to learn to garden/farm and to give your children the experience to work alongside you. All volunteers who accrue hours working at the farm will be eligible to receive vouchers to harvest, incl

uding a pumpkin for each child in a family who volunteers. Goals this year are:

• Providing good locally grown food in a variety of ways, such as; CSA memberships, a booth at the Trinidad Community Farmers Market on Saturdays, and at the Comida Market on Main St in Trinidad.

• Hiring paid youth interns to help and learn about all the aspects of the project. From hands on farming to business marketing the interns will be provided with a great opportunity.

• Gaining greater community support and awareness.
