It is with the heaviest heart that I make this announcement: Due to major changes in our family dynamic and the need to move from our home/property, we have to rehome our three Newfoundland dogs. Please believe me when I say, I have thought through every possible avenue of trying to keep them. These are MY dogs. Going through deliveries with them bonds you so so deeply, and I have felt all the big emotions in making this decision. Please have grace with me as I try my best to do what is right for the dogs.

Stoic - my 5 year old 150lb grey male. He is the most gentle soul. I can literally feed him from my hand. He is one who loves to be greeted, acknowledged, loved, but then he is okay with some space. He was always SO good with his babies, not a typical daddy dog trait!

Freya - my 5 year old 130lb pure black female. She is a lap dog through and through. If you would pet her 24/7 she’d be okay with that! She is more interested in love than food 😆 such a mellow and loyal dog. The one you can have out with you, not on a leash, and she will just stay with you. She really loves her people.

Phoebe - my almost 4 year old 120lb landseer female. She also loves physical touch, but is okay not being first in line. I do not think she would do well as an only child, she needs her friends around her. She deals with some anxiety when in unknown/different places. But is happy and content at home. More mellow, she doesn’t fight for the attention, she lets you come to her. Such a good dog.

UPDATE: ALL puppies have found their forever families ♥️

And then there were two… just these two sweet girls still available. Bright Pink Collar and Dark Blue Collar. Here is a little about their personalities:

Bright Pink:
She is one of the more bold pups. A Leader, even to her bigger brothers. She is always first to try new things and doesn’t seem to struggle when introduced to new things. She is a talker and will chat your ear off while playing 😆

Dark Blue:
she reminds me a lot of her daddy when he was a pup. She is so so mellow, but does show signs of anxiety when it comes to new situations. I usually scoop her up when I see this and try to remind her she is safe. Just the other day, at the vet, she was having a hard time. I picked her up, she likes to put her face in my neck, and soothed her. Then set her back down and she did great! She just need the reassurance. Her daddy grew out of his anxieties, I am confident that she will do well. She is our most petit female.

Both are ready to be the goodest dogs to a fantastic family ♥️

This week babies of course had a lot of growth! It’s amazing how quickly they can learn and adjust. They became more confident in the snow and it has become quite a fun thing for them! This also means more pooping in the yard, and less on the patio 🎉 thank goodness! We also started crate training. Just one night so far, but I am pleased to say they did great! Only one pup had an accident and the initial ”crying” didn’t last long before they settled for bed.

We still have our six sweet girls available. Help us spread the word if you know anyone looking for an XL breed pup! Just two more weeks till we get to unite families with their puppies!

5 Weeks Old already!?? Pups had a lot of growth this week! They are getting very good at using their puppy pads! And now we are getting some more time outside so hopefully they will transition to keeping the poos outside 🤞🏻 they have already doubled their solid food intake and are growing growing growing!

The snow just keeps on coming! And the pups are thriving in it!

Babies got to experience their first snow! They were a little weary, but also very curious See picture of dad “giving instruction” in the comments 😆 it really did look like he was giving advice before entering the cold!

First puppy mash! Well, they’ve been sneaking food from mom for several days now 🤣 This is just puppy food (we use Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy) soaked in water and pumpkin purée. I think it’s safe to say, they’re fans!

Picking puppy food for these big babies can be so hard. There is so much info out there. Puppy food? Adult food? What is best?? Here is what we believe: It isn’t about the label “puppy” or “adult”. It is about having the correct ratios to ensure that their joints and limbs can grow well, and not too quickly. Look at the back of your dog food bag, pay attention to the calcium and phosphorus. Calcium you want to stay under 1.3% and keep the CA/PH ratio as close to 1/1 as possible. We feed our pups the Large Breed Puppy, Lamb and Rice from Diamond Naturals (no, we aren’t getting paid to say this). We then mix a little pumpkin purée and Nancy’s Probiotic Whole Milk Yogurt to aid the pups gut. What do you feed your pups? #nwnewfies #newfoundlandofinstagram

Puppies started “real food” this week! They have certainly come a long way from when they got their first taste! I thought I’d never be able to clean up that mess 😆
