Dr. Robin Brock graduated from NC State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. She spent two years focusing on farm medicine at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center from graduation until her return to NC in 1989. In 1990, she opened her own mixed animal practice in her home town of Mocksville.

During her career, she worked with all animals, large and small, including some pet primates. She also worked with Davie County Humane Society and was instrumental in building an animal shelter. Dr. Brock sold her practice in 2021 and began working as an associate veterinarian.

Dr. Brock resides in Iredell county on a 50-acre farm with her husband, their horses, and other animals. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding, playing the guitar, and working to maintain public trails and equestrian access.

We were just made aware that a scammer spoofed our phone number and called someone after our office hours yesterday pretending to be us. They were demanding money over the phone or they would euthanize their pet. Thankfully, the person did not give them any money and made us aware of the situation today.

There has been an ongoing scam targeting people and their pets. Please know:

1. Our office closes at 5:30. All overnight emergencies are referred to emergency hospitals. We would never call you late in the evening.

2. We would never require money to be paid over the phone. We do not accept Venmo or Zelle payments.

3. Most importantly, we would never threaten to euthanize a patient.

Please be aware of this scam and do not ever give any money to someone over the phone unless you know them personally.

SCAM ALERT

Fake Animal Rescue Calls Targeting Those Searching For Their Pets

Scammers are pretending to be local veterinary hospitals or animal rescue organizations and are calling the pet owner with false claims that their pets have been hit by a vehicle or found unresponsive.

They get the phone number from flyers posted on social media of those looking for their pet.

The Scammer then asks for money saying it is a life or death situation for your pet and they need the money now.

They even call with numbers spoofed to appear to be from a vet office.

If you receive a call, hang up immediately and call the veterinarian directly to verify.

NEVER give any money over the phone.

BE VIGILANT

BE CALM

HANG UP

NEVER PAY ANY MONEY OVER THE PHONE TO SOMEONE WHO CALLS YOU

If you were here today and heard a lot of chatter and laughter, it is because we had our Friendsgiving and we LOVE food around here! More food came after this picture was taken, so we had our plates piled high. We love our team and hope everyone has as much fun with their families next week!

We are still collecting donations to help the victims of flooding in western NC. Their needs have shifted to supplies for the colder weather: winter clothes and blankets (new or clean, used), propane (small and large tanks), sleeping bags, kerosene heaters, kerosene, tents, hand warmers, etc. Water, food, and any other camping type supplies are needed as well.

Our RVT, Anna, has taken two trailers of supplies directly to heavily impacted towns (Creston, Laurel Springs, and Hayesville). We appreciate all of your donations and hope to have another trailer full to take this week!
