Happy Sunday!

❄️Weather- looking ahead to this coming week temperatures are forecasted to be dangerously low with the windchill. Walkers this means your pup will likely only have a 15 minute walk to keep them safe. Play dates will continue on as usual with brief trips outside. I will continue to adjust my plan based on your individual pup as temperatures change this week.

🐾 Monday, February 3rd my last appointment slot will need to be finished by 12:30. Several of you may remember my dog Brunson who was saved from a dog fighter in Trotwood in December 2023, and several of you signed the petition I created for tougher animal cruelty laws. It ended up catching the attention of a State Representative who called me in August to share that he wanted to sponsor legislation based on Brunson and my petition, so I have been collaborating with him on that. Monday, the 3rd, is our second public town hall that we are hosting in Dayton so if anyone is free and wants to come see what your pet’s best friend does outside of B & B just let me know!

Here we grow again! Meet our newest team member, Sunshine B! About a year ago, after a visit with her pets she mentioned “if you ever need to hire again, let me know because I would love to join your team” and here we are! I am so excited for her to join Suzie and me in caring for all of your pet’s needs. Her kindness, enthusiasm and positive outlook definitely live up to her name! Sunshine will be filling in for play dates, potty breaks and almost overnights. Hear from her directly below:

Hello there!

❄️ I am monitoring the incoming weather carefully, and will be waiving any cancellation fees for Monday if the storms arrive as they are currently forecasted to.

❄️ If you are working (shoutout to our healthcare/fire/ems/police/military clients) I will still be there, but may be a little off time wise if the roads are bad.

❄️ Even without the snowfall the temperature is forecasting to be “bitterly cold” all week so that means some of your pets will be limited on outside time. I will be monitoring and adjusting each visit to be safest for your pup.

Ever wonder why your pet’s bestie suggests you book as soon as you make travel plans? This infographic of the visit statistics for 2024 surprised even me (in a very good way). Suzie, Pam & Sunshine each handled a few of the almost overnights. Suzie has a weekly walk client and she also filled in when I was out of state for the funerals of both Dean’s parents.

While 95% of the visits completed have been done by me, I appreciate all of you who have welcomed Suzie and Sunshine into your homes when I can’t be there. All of the overnights are done by me, and that will never change, simply because it would be cost prohibitive for me to charge what I would have to for Suzie or Sunshine to complete one (it would be $225/day). I absolutely love what I do, and I believe each of you know that. Thank you for letting me do what I love, supporting my business and welcoming Suzie and Sunshine when they joined me. I appreciate each and every single one of you.

The perfect face for the last announcement of 2024!

🐾 A little over a month ago I shared the updated terms of service for 2025. Those take effect tomorrow so when you sign into the portal to schedule your first visit for 2025 (if you haven’t prescheduled), or to pay your invoice you will be prompted to sign the updated TOS.

The only things that are changing are the following:

•• The payment terms after receiving your invoice have been shortened from 14 days to 7 days with the system autogenerating the late fee, and your pet’s upcoming visits cancelled until payment is made in full and the next service is prepaid. Balances over 30 days old will be sent to collections. (TLDR: terms changed from 14 to 7 days with the late fee applying after day 7, and balances over 60 days being sent to collections changed to 30 days)

•• If we have not seen your pet in over 6 months we reserve the right to mark them as inactive in the system and to require a meet and greet to get them placed back on the schedule. To avoid this scenario any service (including our $10 potty break) completed once every 6 months keeps your pet up to date in our system. (TLDR: pets not seen over 6 months may require a second meet and greet to go back on the schedule.)


•• Almost overnights and overnights require a 7 day cancellation notice to avoid the 50% cancellation fee. Our holiday schedule fills up quickly (holidays for 2025 are already booking up so here’s your friendly reminder to put in that request if you anticipate traveling ☺️) during the holidays cancellations will require a 14 day notice to avoid a fee of up to 100%. The fee must be paid prior to your pet’s next scheduled service and within 7 days of the invoice being sent by Pet Pocketbook. Any balances over 7 days will have the cancellation fee automatically attached, and balances over 30 days will be sent to collections. (TLDR: overnights/almost overnight cancellation notice moved to 7 days from 24 hours’ notice, holidays moved to 14 days notice with holidays being clearly defined in this clause)

•• What’s the best way to avoid any late fees, or missing the invoice that is emailed at the end of the stay? Pet Pocketbook allows you to set up autopay. If you prefer to pay via Venmo I can also send the payment request on that platform when the system generates the invoice to ensure you see it.

2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year for B & B and I cannot wait to share some of them with you very soon 😉

Well, that certainly is a face 🤣

🐾 Those of you scheduled for Monday 12/30/24 my time will be impacted. As all of you scheduled from Sunday to today know, Dean and I had a major gas leak 12/22 in our home. We have no heat or hot water until they start replacing the pipes in our house Monday. We will be tag-teaming our day so we can each work, which means some of your visit times will be shifted up in their arrival windows. I appreciate your understanding!

All is not calm and quiet, but it wouldn’t be my house if it was 😉

I am extremely grateful to those of you who continue to allow me, and B & B, to care for your pets and be a small part of your lives. Your kindness, encouragement, trust and enthusiasm for my little business has meant everything to me the last few years that we have shared together.
