We have another active period coming up. I go a lot more in detail on patreon. You can subscribe for less than a cup of coffee a month.
Along with wind chills below 0 we will have some lake effect snow showers around today. These will mainly be between I94 and I69. They shouldn't amount to much. An inch or so max on this side of the state.
The Artic blast is on It's way! A piece of the Polar Vortex is sliding down and will bring us the coldest weather we've seen since 2019! Make sure you bundle up as these are the real feel conditions through midweek! #articblast #coldweather #polarvortex #windchill
Snow moves in this afternoon and last through the early morning hours. Generally 2-4 inches can be expected.
Today will be mainly dry other than a few snow flurries around. Tomorrow we will have some snow move in during the afternoon and last overnight. There will be some dry air, but I'm still trying to pinpoint how much and where, but overall we are looking at 1-3 inches across the area.
Rain and snow will move into the area today and last through tomorrow. This won't be a lot of snow. Areas to the west and north of 94 will see 1 to 3 inches, possibly a few higher totals while areas south of 94 and around Detroit city are looking at an inch max.
Some moderate snow is building in Oakland County. Take it easy as some roads may be covered during this burst of snow.
We anticipate snowfall across the area in the morning, persisting intermittently throughout the day, although totals will be minimal, generally less than half an inch.
SNOW SQUALL WARNING VIDEO
Enjoy a nice dry and warm day tomorrow before it all changes. We will be a lot colder on Wednesday and snow is likely. It won't amount to much outside of the thumb. Most of us should stay around an inch or less, but the thumb could get a few inches.
Temps will remain a little below normal for the next couple of days. Outside of the snow belts we may have a stray flurry here or there. A clipper will come into the area on Wednesday, but it looks like it is drying up and I don't expect much out of it. Right now I'm saying an inch max for us. Just enough to cause some wrecks.
Much cooler weather will be around the area starting today. Highs will mainly be in the lower to mid 30s during the period. Since the lakes are so warm the old lake effect machine will get going. The typical snow belts will get slammed in northern Michigan this weekend. Around our parts we will get some lake effect, but overall the effects look to be minimal. Most places that see if will only get an inch max. It is possible to get more if the snow bands percist in the area.
Anyways Happy Thanksgiving and go Detroit Lions !
