She is as sweet as they come, laid-back and, she does everything she is supposed to do at her age. She loads and unloads, she leads, stands tied and stand for the farrier.
She’s going to be a big girl. UTD on shots, coggins, wormer. She is ready to go.
It’s not often you see double bred Blue Valentine. Not only does she have a great pedigree, but she is absolutely gorgeous. This really is going to make heck of a horse she will be able to go in any direction you want her to.

2017 registered Appendix and Jockey Club gelding.

Clean legs, no injuries, and sound.
He stands around 15.3 hh and is absolutely stunning.

He is loping a nice set of barrels and has loads of potential. He is so easy to get along with. He picks up both leads, moves off leg, stops off your seat, and light in your hands. He will work the pattern at home without getting hot.
He is running 2D/3D local, but has not been hauled a lot, he has a big motor with tons of potential. He will go the speed you ask of him.
He has not been hauled this season due to having too many horses and not enough time. He just needs to be hauled and seasoned!

I do believe he would be immediate youth suitable but his size can be intimidating

East Lex is UTD on shots, coggins, wormer and farrier.
PPE’s welcomed at buyers expense.

What are your goals for this season? This year? The next couple years? At the beginning of every season, I like to write out a few goals. Big and small. I found that having them written down somewhere helps to hold me accountable.

I am always looking to add to my goal list or get inspiration on how to keep pushing towards meeting them!

and when you are feeling like you are in a rut... remember, the mind can achieve powerful things. Positive thinking will take you far.

Mr. Joe has been making lots of progress!

We started off stiff, we didn’t really know where to put our feet, he just wanted to bite down on a bit and honestly, a bit rude.

Joe is owned by a beginner rider who wanted him to spend some time with me before she started doing lessons. I’m confident they will become a great team 💚

We are headed home from the vet with GOOD NEWS 🎉🥳

We are 90% better than our first appointment back in early November! Today we got a few injections and were told we can enter a barrel race this weekend if we want to! 🧡🧡🧡

The biggest shout out to Dr. Lyndsay Hayden at the University. She has been incredible to work with and so so optimistic. Oh and she LISTENS to me! She believed me when I told her there was more going on than we originally were told.

Sometimes c**ts are c**ts and have bad days.

Don’t panic.

Make the adjustment and carry on.

Tomorrow is a new day and a clean slate.

Trust the training.
Note differences in behavior.

I’m trying to finalize my calendar for the year.

I need your suggestions!! What are some of your favorite races? Favorite arenas? Any new races you don’t want to miss? Ones with good payouts and/or prizes!

I’d love to make a big trip to Texas in the spring or fall, ideally stay for a week and hit a few races and head home.. any tips, races to attend down there, where to stay??

Youth suitable/beginner barrel horse. Would prefer a gelding but would entertain a mare. Under 15 years old and safe. Nothing that gets fresh after time off, or hot in the alley way.
Would want to try before we buy.
The closer the better but not totally against traveling for the right one.

I thought I would take a minute to share the story behind the brand ❤️

I’ve been riding for almost 20 years but Styx was my first “barrel horse”
I purchased him in December of 2020 with the intentions of getting a horse that I could just play with the pattern on.

Being in the position we are today is just like living a fairytale. He has opened door after door for me. We started entering barrel races and, to be honest, we sucked. And, we sucked for awhile. Until we figured each other out. Then, it was like full speed ahead. We entered more races, I bought a trailer of my own so we could travel to bigger and better races, we entered slot races, won checks, a buckle, won year end prizes, made consistent 1D runs. Things I didn’t even dream of, because it was just something I never thought would happen for me.

He is definitely my “heart horse” and will always have a home with me. So, when I was ready to create my brand, I knew it had to honor him.

He’s big, fast, and most importantly, powerful. Like a rocket ship 🚀

I stumbled upon Western Identity and knew that she could help. I had NO idea what I wanted or where to even start. We went bounced ideas off each other for weeks before we got to “The one”
Man, did she nail it or what??
She listened to my ideas, wanted my backstory, and honestly I feel like I made a new friendship from this experience. Kate is just one of those awesome humans 👏🏻

I thought I would post this here so that anyone who is struggling right now can see that they aren’t alone.

Our struggle has been gate issues. That’s no secret, I’ve been very open about it, in hopes that one day, we could help someone else. Almost two years later, we FINALLY have an answer, or at least a step in the right direction.

We’ve tried what feels like hundreds of different solutions. We scoped to make sure he wasn’t bleeding, we’ve treated for ulcers & EPM. Had joint injections, changed the angles of his front hooves, put wedges on, ran with ear plugs, switched feeds, tried daily CBD pellets and digestive supplements.. basically if you can name it.. we tried it.

One day I said “screw it, I’m going to try a hair analysis test. What do I have to lose?” $35 and a chunk of his mane sent in… turns out to be the best decision I had ever made. And, I’ll be totally honest, when she called me to tell me the results, I didn’t believe them. I couldn’t understand how they could pinpoint issues so specific just by a peice of hair. I shrugged it off.

A few months go by and while I’m riding one day I noticed he wasn’t wanting to sit back and put weight on that right hind leg. The hair test results did say “pain in the right hock” and I even replied, “but he was just injected before the test” but the results stated that it wasn’t an issue with his joints. Something else was going on.

I had two amazing people reach out to me and suggest going to see Dr. Lyndsey Hayden at the university. So, I made my appointment and after spending my entire day there while she searched for something… sure enough… the hair test was spot on.

We found an old injury to his suspensory in his right hock. Thankfully, it’s not as bad as it could be. We’re going to do a few sessions of shockwave, some PRP injections and take a few months off before reevaluating and deciding on a rehab program.

I actually smiled when she told me what was wrong. I was just so thrilled to finally have an answer! I was beginning to drive myself insane. Making the choice to go see one amazing vet changed our lives.

So, Styx is enjoying a well deserved break while I tell him how much he’s appreciated and how sorry I am that I didn’t catch it sooner.

You live and you learn. My one piece of advice from this whole thing is to find a vet that listens to you and believes you when you say that something isn’t right.

Tonight I let him out in the arena to get some fresh air, roll, and stretch his legs. I managed to get the sweetest video of him. Almost like he’s coming to tell me “thank you” ❤️
I just had to share.
