Puppies develop preferences for chewing objects early on, so guiding them toward acceptable items and away from your belongings is essential. 🔹 Early Management: The better you manage your pup’s access to non-chew items and direct them to appropriate toys, the sooner they’ll earn house freedom. Allowing free reign can lead to years of inappropriate chewing on carpets, shoes, and furniture. 🔹 Proper Supervision: Always keep an eye on your puppy. Use leashes, tethers, baby gates, or simply close doors to limit access. If you’re too busy, a crate or exercise pen can keep them out of trouble. 🔹 Puppy-Proofing: Keep tempting items like shoes and electric cords out of reach. Use PVC pipes or products like CritterCord to protect cords from being chewed.
