You can donate cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, boats, or RVs. We accept most vehicles in almost any condition and from nearly any location. And you'll receive a tax deduction for your donation.

To donate, fill out the form found at https://hstt.org/ways-to-give/vehicle-donation/ or call (855) 500-7433 (RIDE) and tell them you want to donate your vehicle to the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. After you submit your donation form, CARS will contact you within 24 hours to schedule a pick-up of your vehicle.

In most cases, the CARS Donation Division can handle all the DMV paperwork!

Beginning January 5, 2025, the Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe (HSTT) will manage comprehensive animal sheltering services for our community on behalf of the Town of Truckee (TOT) and (Eastern) Placer County to meet growing community animal welfare needs and increase outreach program availability, including low-cost spay/neuter and pet wellness support.

Under this new agreement, HSTT will solely operate the animal shelter. TOT and Placer County will continue to provide field services and animal control for the Truckee and Eastern Placer County communities.

What does this mean to you? In addition to adoption and community outreach programs, HSTT will provide animal licenses, manage lost and found reports, and oversee pet reunification at the Truckee Animal Shelter at 10961 Stevens Lane, Truckee.
