Update: Lori has been adopted!

Lori is a sweet senior gal who's ready to find her forever home. She is mellow and easy-going, and according to her foster family, she's good with kids, cats and dogs.* Stop in and meet this adorable lady today! Lori only has one eye due to a past medical issue. This condition doesn't seem to affect her positive demeanor or comfort.
Lori is 8 years old and weighs 46lbs.

Old McDonald had a farm and on that farm he had a Mama Moo Moo. Mama Moo Moo had some kitties and they're ready to say hello with a big woohoo!
They are available for adoption starting today 11/14 at 1pm.
Mama Moo Moo is 5 years old and weighs 6lbs. Her kittens are 2 months old and weigh 2-3lbs.

We are excited to announce that the Truckee Town Council has approved a new contract with the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) to expand its role in overseeing animal services. By taking on the Town's animal sheltering responsibilities through this municipal contract, we aim to eliminate any confusion regarding the operation of the Truckee Animal Shelter. HSTT will continue to provide the vital services and programs it has always offered, and we look forward to assuming the additional animal sheltering duties that the Town has managed so well for many years.

Furthermore, this new model presents an extraordinary opportunity for HSTT to meet the growing needs of our community by expanding our assistance programs. The contract includes the costs associated with shelter operations previously managed by the Town, including several new full-time-equivalent, benefited positions. However, HSTT's ability to increase support for beloved community pets will depend on the crucial financial support from our incredibly generous family of donors.

*La Dama has been diagnosed with CH (cerebellar hypoplasia), a non-progressive neurological disorder that affects a cat's brain and causes uncoordinated movement, tremors, and loss of balance. It won't affect her lifespan or quality of life but may require some special accommodations.
