Hey, y’all! Otis and I are visiting my mom in Tennessee for our first of three trips out to the Appalachia range this year. I’ve brought work with me on this trip so I’m still available sporadically. We’re going to try to hit a low peak tomorrow so long as trail conditions are suitable to the big guy’s joints. I’ll be back to regularly scheduled activities on Tuesday! Peace love and nose boops!

New and Return Clients!!!!

There is availability to a handful of clients on my roster! To make an appointment please call or text the business line (607)378-7647. You will need to fill out the required client info paperwork, submit required vaccination records and review the grooming agreement which outlines practice and policy. Lyss will book you an appointment for a 30 minute Assessment and nail trim. I will assess your dog’s coat type and condition as well as behavior and willingness to be handled and groomed. I will answer any questions you may have about my grooming practices and policies and provide a general price quote for grooming. I will trim and dremel your dogs nails as well as shaving pads where applicable/ possible. These appointments will be held on Wednesday mornings.

Things to be aware of prior to booking:
🐾I only groom on Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri
🐾Drop off times range from 08:00 to 1:30. I do not have availability for later afternoon or evening appointments on my roster.
🐾I am not an Express groomer and do not rush grooms for any reason. A full groom on a large, heavy coated dog can take up to 6 hours to complete. On average, grooms are done in 2-4 hours. I text or call when completed.
🐾 Routine maintenance is required to remain a current client. We can discuss what this means to your dog specifically. It changes based on breed, coat type, style, home maintenance practices, etc.
🐾 If your dog has become matted please just be honest about it. I will work with you on how to keep your dog free from matting. However, I will not shave off matting every 4-6months as this does not facilitate a good bond/ relationship between your pup and his/ her groomer.

There are some dogs in a groomer’s career that are the dogs that “taught us to be a groomer.” In the last few years I’ve been finding myself saying goodbye to some of them. Today, Bubba passed over that rainbow bridge. He taught me to be bather in 2018. He watched over my journey into grooming part time then full time and watched me open my own business. He stayed with us frequently at Mouse in the House and watched Farmer and I journey into our relationship together. He was a very special boy with a magical soul and he will be so very, very missed. Thank you for teaching me, Bubba. Thank you for the little bits of your magic you’ve left with me. I will carry them as tenderly as I carry the bits of magic left in my soul by Mr Big and Galen and Lilah and so many more. Love you!
