New and Return Clients!!!!

There is availability to a handful of clients on my roster! To make an appointment please call or text the business line (607)378-7647. You will need to fill out the required client info paperwork, submit required vaccination records and review the grooming agreement which outlines practice and policy. Lyss will book you an appointment for a 30 minute Assessment and nail trim. I will assess your dog’s coat type and condition as well as behavior and willingness to be handled and groomed. I will answer any questions you may have about my grooming practices and policies and provide a general price quote for grooming. I will trim and dremel your dogs nails as well as shaving pads where applicable/ possible. These appointments will be held on Wednesday mornings.

Things to be aware of prior to booking:
🐾I only groom on Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri
🐾Drop off times range from 08:00 to 1:30. I do not have availability for later afternoon or evening appointments on my roster.
🐾I am not an Express groomer and do not rush grooms for any reason. A full groom on a large, heavy coated dog can take up to 6 hours to complete. On average, grooms are done in 2-4 hours. I text or call when completed.
🐾 Routine maintenance is required to remain a current client. We can discuss what this means to your dog specifically. It changes based on breed, coat type, style, home maintenance practices, etc.
🐾 If your dog has become matted please just be honest about it. I will work with you on how to keep your dog free from matting. However, I will not shave off matting every 4-6months as this does not facilitate a good bond/ relationship between your pup and his/ her groomer.

There are some dogs in a groomer’s career that are the dogs that “taught us to be a groomer.” In the last few years I’ve been finding myself saying goodbye to some of them. Today, Bubba passed over that rainbow bridge. He taught me to be bather in 2018. He watched over my journey into grooming part time then full time and watched me open my own business. He stayed with us frequently at Mouse in the House and watched Farmer and I journey into our relationship together. He was a very special boy with a magical soul and he will be so very, very missed. Thank you for teaching me, Bubba. Thank you for the little bits of your magic you’ve left with me. I will carry them as tenderly as I carry the bits of magic left in my soul by Mr Big and Galen and Lilah and so many more. Love you!

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!! Our books for 2024 will be opening on MONDAY for CURRENT CLIENTS ONLY.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before booking:

- Current Clients are dogs that have not gone more than 8 months between appointments. This means we will have had to groom your dogs after 5/1/23 in order to get a 2024 appointment.

- I strongly recommend you book automatic appointments with Lyss. I will probably be booking out 3-4 months all year again this year.

- The prices of some of our services will be increasing to keep up with inflation. Please speak to me at the beginning of your next appointment if you have any questions about this!

- Starting in 2024 ALL CLIENTS will be required to sign a Grooming Agreement for the year. This will be sent to you via email, along with a contact information form, for you to fill out before your first 2024 appointment. If it has not been filled out before that appointment, your appointment will be cancelled and you will be charged a missed appointment fee.

- Additionally, I am requiring more vaccination records than just Rabies. In addition to the Rabies Certificate, I need documentation showing that Bordetella and DHPP vaccines are both current. If Lyss has not received these prior to your first 2024 appointment, your appointment will be cancelled and you will be charged a missed appointment fee.

PLEASE READ TO THE END.

We want to thank everyone for their patience as our client roster has exploded this year and we have had longer than usual delays in booking. I am truly thankful that you have all trusted me to groom your dogs.

We have opened a small handful of Holiday Appointments (for our current grooming clients ONLY) for the end of the year! There are about 50 spaces open. These will be given out on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.

IF YOU HAVE AUTOMATIC APPOINTMENTS: Depending on how close a holiday appointment is to your already scheduled appointments, it might be considered a bonus appointment or just a reschedule of an existing appointment. Lyss will let you know how this works with your automatic appointments, but this will not shift your entire appointment schedule and there will be either a longer or shorter wait between two appointments than usual.

Wixom Farm is fully restocked on all cuts just in time for the start of BBQ season. We’ll have the store open all day tomorrow and Sunday and we will be home to show you around if you’d like to see how we grow our food happy and healthy.
