📍CT ⏰ LAST CALL - we courtesy posted Rosie and people said they had interest but no one followed through. Now her time is coming to an end because she has no place to go.

Amazingly sweet dog, great with all people and kids and needs to be only pet. Professionally trained and super well behaved. Spayed.

Professional training or skills? Yes, Rosie went to board and train at 203K9. She’s is very well trained.

Knows commands?- yes (sit, stay, heel, break)

Energy Level? - moderate. Goes with the flow. If it’s a lazy day, she’s happy to hang around with the people she loves. If it’s a nice day and she can play fetch in the yard and run around, she’s just as happy.

Issues with humans of any kind?- NONE ❤️

Issues with animals of any kind? she not want to share her home with other dogs. She would prefer to be the only pet. And that okay. Not everyone dog has to love other dogs.

Reason for Surrender: she’s unhappy living with another dog and our new arrangements don’t permit that but everything else about her is perfect.

History (how long has dog been in your care how was he/she acquired)? We acquired Rosie through a breeder when she was 7 weeks old and with us her whole life. She has seen us through the birth of our 2 & 1/2 year old & 5 month old, And is loved by our two older children 11 & 12 years old.

Any special details: Rosie adapts wonderful to change and transition. She loves children and people. We call her our “gentle giant”

Dogs favorite activities- laying around with her humans, chasing them around outside and playing fetch with toys.

Fly Free

This beautiful bird did not have a happy outcome, but we had to share as the story is rather interesting.

First off, a huge thank you to Regional Animal Control -Bridgewater Brookfield New Milford Roxbury Sherman for the rescue and transport of this injured older red tailed hawk to us for care. It takes a village.

Upon his arrival, we discovered that he had a fractured wing and damage to his eye, most likely from being hit by a car. We noticed he looked very old ❤️

He had a federal band on his leg, so after we cared for him and got him comfortable, we immediately wrote down the number and hit the computer. Bands can tell us so much about the life of the bird in our care.

On the band reporting site, we were asked 3 times if we were sure of the number as this was a very old band number. Each time we answered yes. The report popped up and turns out this beauty was banded as an adult in 2008, estimated at the time to be 3 years of age or older, making him at least 19 years old!

We immediately messaged our friend Lawrence Fischer as he has been banding birds in CT for decades and turns out he was the one who banded this beautiful hawk back in 2008!

He was picked up in the general area of where he had been banded in 2008 so obviously had a well established territory all those years. He headed to our vet yesterday, but sadly passed away as it was his turn for an exam 💔🌈 Given the extent of the injuries, he would have likely been a euthanasia patient, so we think of it as he left this world on his own terms yesterday.

Fly free beautiful one. We are guessing you sent a lot of offspring out into the world over your 19+ years out there. Truly a loss to the wild to lose such an experienced bird. 🌈💔🌈

The harsh reality of being Pitbull ~

No more lonely cold nights or hearing that I'm bad

No more growling belly from the meals I never had.

No more scorching sunshine with a water bowl that's dry.

No more complaining neighbors about the noise when I cry.

No more hearing "shut up", "get down" or "get out of here"!

No more feeling disliked, only peace is in the air.

Euthanasia is a blessing, though some still can't see why I was ever born If I weren't meant to be.

My last day of living was the best I ever had.

Someone held me very close, I could see she was very sad.

I kissed the lady's face, and she hugged me as she cried.

I wagged my tail to thank her, then I closed my eyes and died. 🐾💔

Please stop breeding 💔🙏

A three-legged shelter dog named Maci doesn’t understand why people continue to pass her by. She is a sweet dog who loves to run, play, and cuddle.

Last August she arrived at the shelter emaciated with a badly broken leg. The vet decided to amputate the leg to give her the best chance at a normal life.

After months of recovery in a foster home, Maci is ready to find her person. Her foster family shared that not much slows her down. “Maci is so spunky and sweet! She plays hard but she also knows how to settle herself. She loves to cuddle and be the center of attention, every time we went into the clinic for her appointments she would go around the room and say ‘hello’ to EVERY SINGLE person. She does not know a stranger!”

Sadly, people walked right by her kennel at the shelter when they see she is missing a leg.
