Happy National Women in Science Day! Celebrating the incredible women who are breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of scientists. "
I want to celebrate 2 of our most deserving women
Kaitlyn Chesser, who is our head vet tech.
I have been with Argo Animal Clinic for 13 years. I started off in the kennels and now hold the veterinary technician supervisor role in the clinic. I have always had a passion for animal care and knew I would work with animals for my career in some capacity. I really enjoy working on all the precious babies that we see on a daily basis and getting to see them grow older and be a part of their health and wellbeing. I have learned SO much in my years working here and hope to be able to continue growing in my knowledge of vet med. I have been married for 10 years and have a daughter who most have probably seen running around here named Gerogia. and I have a border collie mix named Mia and a black kitty named Black Panther. In my free time I like to spend time at home with my family and enjoying the outdoors. I love trying new restaurants also. One of my favorite ways to relax is to put together Lego sets and watch a good movie.
"Think of our head vet tech as the backbone of our clinic. They're highly trained professionals who perform a variety of crucial roles. They assist the vet during exams and procedures, run lab tests, administer medications, and provide essential nursing care to animals. They're also a valuable resource for clients, answering questions and providing guidance on pet care."
Jana Walton
Bio: I started in the veterinary field in 2001 as a kennel assistant at a small practice in Prattville, AL. Throughout the last 24 years I have worked at a couple of other veterinary hospitals and an emergency hospital and received a lot of hands- on training. I received my Animal Sciences Degree in 2016 and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have always had a love for animals, (Australian Cattle Dogs are my favorite breed of dog. Don’t tell the others.) and dreamed of working in the animal field. I have worked at Argo Animal Clinic for a year and a half, and I love all of my patients and our clients. My husband and I are owned by 3 cattle dogs, one big, goofy mutt, a couple of chihuahuas, a pomeranian and 2 cats. In our free time we love to visit Mt. Cheaha and hike with our cattle dogs. Licensed Vet Tech
