✨I’m excited to share that through USEA, I’ll be starting an Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) Club for the Tryon area and looking for riders grade 5-12th that may be interested in joining! ✨
Students can continue to train with their prefered trainer but can join in this club and compete in recognized events to earn individual points and contribute to club points. We aim to bring lasting friendships, team spirit, and fun riding to the shows!
“The mission of IEL is to bring together junior riders with a common interest and provide a supportive community through which students can continue to pursue their riding interests. This program will encourage team camaraderie and will give junior members a chance to compete in a team atmosphere. This program will also help provide a pathway for those riders who seek to be part of a collegiate eventing program as they graduate high school.”

Please PM me if you’re interested or would like to talk more details.
We have until Feb 15th to submit a roster of those that would like to join.

The fundamental difference between you and your role model is the way they apply their aids vs the way you do.

Yes you can argue they have more experience, natural feel, talent, whatever you want to call it - but all of that culminates in how an aid is applied.
Broken down into two key areas, the timing of when an aid is used and the amount of pressure applied.

The best riders in the world can apply an aid at the exact moment it’s needed, and are able to manage the pressure of the aid to *only what is required.

Generally the 3 common mistakes are:
1️⃣ Too slow to apply an aid - the run out that’s already happened or the mistake that’s already been made.
2️⃣ Over pressurise - a busy rider that results in a numb, unhappy or unresponsive horse.
3️⃣ Under pressurise - usually stemming from being afraid of the above, but in the process does not correctly train their horses.

Usually the word pressure has negative connotations, but it should only be negative if there is too much of it.
A leg aid is a pressure, but if it is too slow or under pressurised it’s not helpful. Using your rein to create a contact is a pressure, but if it’s over pressurised it’s unnecessary.

👉🏻It’s important to be fast to add a pressure, but even faster to release it.
