Paws, Prayers, & Promises is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization dedicated to caring for animals and their people in our community, consisting of Polk County, NC, Landrum, SC, Campobello, SC, and Gowensville, SC. We have no facility; no cages, no kennels, no chains. We are building a bank of folks who generously volunteer their time, homes, and hearts i

n order to help. Our foster volunteers are the heart of our program. We anticipated a “soft” opening in October 2015 as we transferred Po’Kitties to Paws, Prayers, & Promises, but we have already been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of the community. And that’s a good thing, because the need is greater than ever and greater than we even imagined. We are the sole provider of spay/neuter and food for our Po’Kitties TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program. Additionally, there are many folks in dire straits who need pet food and other assistance. Our greatest needs at this time are for foster volunteers, pet food, and donations. Pet food may be dropped off at P3 Consignments, 112 E. Rutherford in Landrum, Tuesday through Saturday from 11-4. Paws, Prayers, & Promises will be offering assistance for people who, at the end of their lives, have no place for their beloved pets to go. We believe that these pets can be re-homed and live out their lives in a loving environment. When these animals can be cared for by loving family members or neighbors, Paws, Prayers, & Promises can supply food, litter, and basic vet care. When there is no one to take the animal, we can place them in safe, loving foster homes until the appropriate new home can be found. We will also be offering assistance to animals and their people in dire straits – those in battered women’s shelters, those who are losing their homes, those on a fixed income without the ability to feed their beloved pets. We believe that with a little assistance, many animals can remain in their current homes instead of being dumped, taken to animal shelters, or euthanized. We are proud to partner with P3 Retail for Rescue.

This is Bailey. This is the 24th cat from the lady that passed away in Campobello. We now have the 25th cat as well and we think there is one more.
These are the cats that Spartanburg County Animal Control told the caretaker to just let out. Seriously?
Only 4 of them were fixed! How does this help the Community Cat issue?
As of tomorrow the last one that was caught will be fixed.
In our opinion Spartanburg County Animal Control needs to come up with more humane and responsible alternatives that will help the animals and our community.
Huge thanks to the Bucks for all their help catching these cats.

We ended up taking Jazzy from Healthpointe Veterinary Clinic. They had to remove one eye because it was ruptured and were going to have to remove her second eye so we agreed to take this little black beauty. She is amazing. Thank you so much to the vets at Healthpointe for saving her life. She will be available for adoption once she is spayed. #BlindCatsRock

They needed a large blood donor at the vet today and our Chevy came to the rescue, all the while making biscuits. 💕💕 Chevy is looking for a home of his very own. He was 1 of the 6 cats dumped at LANDRUM Vet.

We thought this was too sweet not to share. The Resh’s adopted Sousa and Chevelle this past week. This is Chevelle, one of the abandoned cats with their adorable son! Thank you for adopting!! 💕💕🐾🐾

We took Mochi in because he had a urinary blockage and he was surrendered by his owner. He was having a really rough time and it can be overwhelming for all. He had another blockage but Dr. Parker was able to get him to pee on his own. He was put on a special diet and we took him in and he was getting in much better shape but something was missing. We could tell he was stressed here and the family that adored him was missing. So we decided to reach out to Stephanie and see if they wanted Mochi back. The next day we heard from Stephanie and they did want him to come back to live with their family. So Mochi went back to the family he loved. He is on a special diet and everyone is happy. Thank you to Stephanie and her lovely family for taking this sweet fellow back. There is NO PLACE LIKE HOME. 💕💕🐾🐾

Go Mushu!!! This makes us so happy! He is one lucky fellow thanks to Dr. Raines and LANDRUM Vet because he came in very close to death. Thank you and thank you Tammy for the video. 💕💕

Mushu is alive thanks to Dr. Raines and the folks at LANDRUM Vet. He has opened his eyes and is making biscuits. We are hoping and praying this little fellow is going to make it. He was very anemic and had ants and fleas all over him. Please send him some prayers, or reiki and we will hope for the best. 💕💕

We got in a tiny kitten this week who we were told looked like he had a broken leg and was in the road. Pip was very anemic and could barely stand up when we got him. Dr. O says he has Swimmers Syndrome and until today he would barely even stand up, but this made our day! We think Pip is going to be just fine! 💕💕🐾🐾
