Paws, Prayers, & Promises is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization dedicated to caring for animals and their people in our community, consisting of Polk County, NC, Landrum, SC, Campobello, SC, and Gowensville, SC. We have no facility; no cages, no kennels, no chains. We are building a bank of folks who generously volunteer their time, homes, and hearts i

n order to help. Our foster volunteers are the heart of our program. We anticipated a “soft” opening in October 2015 as we transferred Po’Kitties to Paws, Prayers, & Promises, but we have already been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of the community. And that’s a good thing, because the need is greater than ever and greater than we even imagined. We are the sole provider of spay/neuter and food for our Po’Kitties TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) program. Additionally, there are many folks in dire straits who need pet food and other assistance. Our greatest needs at this time are for foster volunteers, pet food, and donations. Pet food may be dropped off at P3 Consignments, 112 E. Rutherford in Landrum, Tuesday through Saturday from 11-4. Paws, Prayers, & Promises will be offering assistance for people who, at the end of their lives, have no place for their beloved pets to go. We believe that these pets can be re-homed and live out their lives in a loving environment. When these animals can be cared for by loving family members or neighbors, Paws, Prayers, & Promises can supply food, litter, and basic vet care. When there is no one to take the animal, we can place them in safe, loving foster homes until the appropriate new home can be found. We will also be offering assistance to animals and their people in dire straits – those in battered women’s shelters, those who are losing their homes, those on a fixed income without the ability to feed their beloved pets. We believe that with a little assistance, many animals can remain in their current homes instead of being dumped, taken to animal shelters, or euthanized. We are proud to partner with P3 Retail for Rescue.

These are a few of the 16 cats and kittens we have taken in over the last two weeks from the lady who passed away in Campobello.
We are so glad that no one listened to Spartanburg County Animal Control’s advice as to just let them out. Only 3 of the 16 were fixed and this would have only added more homeless cats to what is already a huge problem in the county.
We are glad we took them in and we cannot thank Ron and Julie Buck and Drew for all their help catching them and getting them to Landrum Vet. The last two get spayed tomorrow! Please if you are feeding cats, there are programs to get them spayed and neutered all around the area.

We lost these two precious souls late yesterday at the vets. The amazing tortie, Kiki, seemed like she was doing great and then late yesterday we knew something was very wrong and we rushed her to the vet. They think she either had cancer or heart failure.
We also lost the little orange girl Chuckie. We tried our best as did our vet to save her, but it was not meant to be.
Thank you to all the folks at Landrum Vet for trying their best.

These three beautiful older kittens were trapped today, thanks to the Bucks, from the lady’s house in Campobello who passed away. They are not really tame but they would make excellent barn kitties. They are now vetted and ready to go. We will even contribute a heated house if anyone can take them. They would need to be kept up for 2-3 weeks in a secure place. We ended up taking Jazzy from Healthpointe Veterinary Clinic. They had to remove one eye because it was ruptured and were going to have to remove her second eye so we agreed to take this little black beauty. She is amazing. Thank you so much to the vets at Healthpointe for saving her life. She will be available for adoption once she is spayed. #BlindCatsRock

They needed a large blood donor at the vet today and our Chevy came to the rescue, all the while making biscuits. 💕💕 Chevy is looking for a home of his very own. He was 1 of the 6 cats dumped at LANDRUM Vet.

We thought this was too sweet not to share. The Resh’s adopted Sousa and Chevelle this past week. This is Chevelle, one of the abandoned cats with their adorable son! Thank you for adopting!! 💕💕🐾🐾

We took Mochi in because he had a urinary blockage and he was surrendered by his owner. He was having a really rough time and it can be overwhelming for all. He had another blockage but Dr. Parker was able to get him to pee on his own. He was put on a special diet and we took him in and he was getting in much better shape but something was missing. We could tell he was stressed here and the family that adored him was missing. So we decided to reach out to Stephanie and see if they wanted Mochi back. The next day we heard from Stephanie and they did want him to come back to live with their family. So Mochi went back to the family he loved. He is on a special diet and everyone is happy. Thank you to Stephanie and her lovely family for taking this sweet fellow back. There is NO PLACE LIKE HOME. 💕💕🐾🐾
