💔 Please don’t scroll by sweet Moo!

This girl was born in rescue in 2022 and is our longest resident ever 😭
Her story is heartbreaking….

Her mama, Calliope, was rescued and gave birth within minutes of being safe at Avalon. She must have endured a lot, because she passed on her scaredy-cat nature to her babies. Sweet Moo, our blue-eyed beauty is a very cautious girl.

She’s been in the process of bonding twice, and something always seems to get her scared, breaking the bond. 😭
Imagine, finally feeling safe and happy in a new home with a new husbun, and then losing that home - not once, but twice. 😢

So… We are desperately searching for a FOREVER HOME for Moo. A home with humans who will love and care for her, just the way she is, knowing that she may never be a cuddly bunny, and she may never bond with another bunny.

More than any of our rescue buns, sweet Moo deserves her Hoppily Ever After and we’d love to find her a home for the holidays.

It is never ok to threaten people that work at a rescue that you are going to let your animals outside if we cannot help.

I just got off the phone with the 3rd call today threatening to release a rabbit into the woods because they were moving.

When asking for basic information, it was “i don’t know” for everything.

When we told them how low we are on space, they said, “it’s your job to run a rescue and take my bunny in”

I told them kindly, that every rescue is struggling. And no, this is not our “job”

Nobody gets paid, this is all a volunteer effort by so many people who dedicate their time energy, and funds to our bunnies.

Space does not magically exist.

If you want to pay 5,000 dollars a month for us to rent another larger facility, be our guest.

If you want to help by donating, fostering, and adoption, that is how you can help our rescue and ensure we have space for those who need it.

Not only is releasing a rabbit outside a death sentence for them, it’s ILLEGAL.

We understand times are tough, but I wish people were more responsible and thoughtful towards the animals they chose to commit to.

Bunny ear catheters always look so silly. She has a ponytail.

Hopefully this little lady feels better soon💕

Edit: the yellow bag is a warmed up fluid bag to help with additional heat support. She is suffering from severe GI dysbiosis and is having diarrhea, and is on IV fluids to keep her well hydrated while she recovers.

She needs a loving foster home!
She is a newer rescue who has some feet issues. She had severe sore hocks and also strange fractures + a missing back toe.

She loves soft blankets to rest on.

There have been 2 emergency situations we have helped with recently that have landed us with almost 15 extra guinea pigs in our care.

We normally try to stay laser focused on bunnies, but when there are emergencies, we try and help how we can.

Without community support, the point is moot. When emergencies happen, our rescue needs more support than ever, especially with sharing our animals who are eligible and needing foster or adoptive homes.

Having emergency after emergency request with not a lot of movement on adoption is not sustainable for us financially or physically with our space.

So please, remember all of the little faces we have to care for if you are messaging us with emergencies. They matter too. They cannot be forgotten in the chaos of emergencies. They need homes.

The always too busy to photograph… Birch ❤️

Birch is a baby who was born in sanctuary care. She is one of Sequoias “saplings”❤️🌿

She is spayed and vaccinated.

She’s such a high energy and fun loving lady. Always doing binkies in her little pen as much as she can. She needs a loving home with a family who wants a high energy bun who they can play with and love. If you can foster or adopt Birch, please reach out. The sanctuary is super super full.
