Got to spend lots of time this snow day with some seriously fascinated kitties, such as the beautiful Agate.

Aggie is coming around so nicely after being rescued from a hoarding situation. She would love a kind and loving foster home to transfer into to continue working on her trust with people ❤️❄️

Little Linky Moo will be ready soon to go to a very special foster in the Portland area who can keep an extra special eye on his mobility!

Linky was dumped a few weeks earlier and found outside with a leg injury.

He got knee surgery recently for a luxation of the patella that ended up being unsuccessful, but miraculously this sweet boy has more energy than ever and seems to have significantly less pain.

If you can provide a safe indoor space, keep a close eye on Linky and his mobility, and give us regular updates, you may be a great candidate to foster.

Occasional transport to and from Beaverton helpful due to vet proximity.

He is also neutered and litter trained fairly well.

What we provide:

4x4 pen
Linoleum liner (optional)
Litter box, p*e pads/litter
Toys
Treats
Blankets
Hay
Pellets
Water and food bowls
Bunny beds

Medical care is covered under the rescue!

AVOID TREATS LIKE THIS!

There is little to no regulation in the pet food/treat industry. This means that manufacturers can profit off of promoting extremely unhealthy food/treats with no kickback.

Rabbits cannot properly digest dairy, seeds, nuts, and should not eat fruit or especially dried fruit because of the extremely high sugar content which can cause GI dysbiosis.

Instead, use natural hay based treats/ botanicals.

If it looks flashy, dyed, or is sweetened and covered in junk, don’t give it to your bunny!

Reposting because it's necessary. 🍼

Do not ADOPT animals to breed.
Do not place them in breeding situations.

Animals purchased from petstores or adopted from rescues are not supposed to be bred, you don't know what their genetic history is.

If you own a male, adopt or purchase another male.
If you own a female, adopt or purchase another female.

They don't need " boyfriends " or " girlfriends ".

If they want a companion, a same s*x companion will do.

Thank you so much to our recent donors, many of you are giving whatever you can and we SEE that💕🐇💕

It means so much to us to see donations for 2,5,10 dollars. We got a bunch of them this morning, it makes us happy to be thought of even if it is in a small way, because it makes a huge difference when the community comes together 🐇🫶

Busy week for us!

🐇Today Linky got his luxation repair surgery, but it did not go well and we are unsure of the long term results from this surgery + the splint. He did also get neutered while under anesthesia which is awesome though. He is learning to walk with his fancy wrap on this evening. 💕

🐇Tomorrow, Tuba is being spayed and vaccinated and she actually is staying the night at the vet tonight because we have ANOTHER spay happening at another clinic tomorrow morning 😂🫶

🐇Tomorrow we also are doing a mini vaccine clinic for several of our rabbits to get their annual RHD vaccinations, and a couple rabbits their first. If you’re new here, please read up on RHD and why we vaccinate for it.

Please share and donate if you can!

We have spent almost 4,400 this month on vet bills. Thank you so much to our supporters, we love you guys!💕🐇

We were contacted about an older abandoned orange kitty who was left behind in an apartment complex years ago and has been outside ever since.

He is not handling this cold weather well and needs to come inside: can anyone foster him?

We will setup vet appts once we have a confirmed foster. Probably should not be around other cats or dogs at this time.

Just reminding everyone that comments about “meat rabbits vs pet rabbits” on our pages are not welcome.

There’s been an influx of people feeling the need to single out the work we do and put a spotlight on the unfortunate grey area people experience with rabbits, as some people kill and eat them.

Obviously we are vehemently opposed to that, and the foundation of the ethics behind this rescue is one that believes no animals need to be unjustly killed for our benefit.

We are not interested in hearing about how you loved your rabbits so much and then ate them, or how your “meat rabbits” are so mean and aggressive compared to our “nice rabbits”

(Spoiler alert, many of them were rescued from slaughter)

We’ve noticed a lot of people feel the need to let us know the harm they do or can demonstrate against these beautiful creatures as if it is an act of superior strength.

We will not tolerate that here, because you can terrify and traumatize in a second if you wanted to… but our rescue is built on the foundation of healing, and that can take a long time.

For some it is weeks, months, years.

So if you are one of those people who has been commenting on our rescue page or messaging us recently, we hope you can learn from our wonderful rabbits that you have so admired and felt the need to compare to your own.

The only difference from where they sit and where the rabbits in slaughterhouses sit is a lot of love, trust, and empathy.

Linky Moo has surgery tomorrow to hopefully correct his knee.

Patellar luxation is not common in rabbits, and therefore is not a common procedure.

💕🐇

Please donate if you can to help this little dude feel his best!

Today we updated Toasts bio on our website Avalonmicrosanctuary.org

We want to highlight her as a soon to be adoptable bun, and a great candidate for fostering !

Toast is a super sassy girl. She is vaccinated and will be spayed soon. We had to reschedule last week because we ran out of time at the vet.

Toast was rescued from slaughter and has been fostered before, where she ran the house and took ownership of their kittens 😂🐇💕

If you are looking for a bit of vibrancy, energy, and fun in 2025, you may want to consider this big ball of sunshine!

Information on fostering and adoption is available on our website Avalonmicrosanctuary.org

It doesn’t fit on Facebook very well, but here’s a bit more information on E. Cuniculi for everyone asking regarding Ladybug.

This is just one of the reasons specialized vet care is so important to us for our buns 💕🐇💪

All of the Avalon buns are tested prior to adoption to send them off with peace of mind.

We got news back for ladybug! Her E. Cuniculi blood test came back negative at 0.000. That basically indicates she is negative and has had NO exposure to it.

She is the first Avalon rabbit to hit the quadruple 0! 😍🫶 Ladybug is wobbly and has been since she was dumped outside and caught and found by MJ Alcoke on a rescue mission.

We tested her for E. Cuniculi because it it so common in rabbits and can cause central nervous system degradation and symptoms such as head tilt, wobbliness, seizures, etc when left unchecked.

Since she is negative that means that she was likely the victim of some sort of trauma like our permanent wobbly resident, Hannah. She could have been hit by a car, attacked, pounced on, kicked.

Who knows? It’s so sad, but she is handling it so well.

Ladybug will actually be fully adoptable since she is able to move so well even with her wobbliness. Who wants to medical foster this special girl? She even uses her litter box before she is spayed… a true rockstar✨✨✨✨
