Meet two of the sapling babies....Sycamore and Hickory!

Sycamore and Hickory were born at Avalon in February 2024 to Sequoia. All of the babies from this litter are amazing! Sycamore (spot on nose) loves to climb and was an escape artist as a baby. Hickory loves to sit on top of his cardboard box to watch the happenings at the rescue.

Both of these gray/violet eyed boys need space to run and binky! They are depressed at the rescue and are in desperate need of a home. They are both neutered, vaccinated, and litter trained. They are not bonded and are single buns.

Help us find them a foster or forever home soon!!

It’s been awhile since all of you have gotten a Treefrog update!

As many of you remember, Treefrog came to us this summer after being surrendered from living in a nasty outdoor situation involving dozens of rabbits. Since none of them were fixed, they would all attack each other. Treefrog really got hurt, and because of the warm weather, he had maggots infesting his wounds.

Treefrog is Simon’s brother, they came from the same place.

He had tons of medical issues and more than he is ready to face. Treefrog has come a very long way and is almost on the verge of getting chunky, which is amazing for a bunny who was skin and bones and had trouble putting weight on.

He lives with Grandpa, and always is cuddling him. You can kind of see Grandpa in the pack n play in this photo.

Treefrog is full of spirit, he is now making me fully aware he is not neutered by grunting and spraying me. But for a bunny who was barely a bunny 6 months ago, I’m happy to see him act like a strong little dude!

Let's send some love out to Betty and Winnifred!!

The two girls were former 4-H bunnies and when their owners weren't involved with the program anymore, they decided to euthanize them. Avalon stepped in and rescued this sweet duo.

Betty (brown) is the friendlier of the two and enjoys getting head scratches. Winnifred is a little more shy and prefers to nap in her cardboard box. These girls are big lumps of love who have a second chance at life and waiting to find their forever home.

They are spayed, vaccinated, and still working on perfecting their potty habits.

Avalon doesn't just rescue bunnies.....we also help other small mammals! At the end of October, we were called to help round up some guinea pigs that had been dumped in McMinnville. There were 15 pigs total and of course some of the females were pregnant. We are thankful to some of our partner rescues for taking in some pigs but we have a few still looking for homes.

Meet the gorgeous Georgina and her two babies....Jasper and Opal. They were rescued along with Steve.....or Squeaky Steve because he loves to share his feelings. This crew will still need to be spayed and neutered.

They join our two spayed girls Dahlia and Dusty at the rescue who are also looking for a home for the holiday!!

UPDATE! Fostered! Thank you Murielle 🫶

We are looking for a very special foster for our older boy, Bernie.

As you can see from the first photo, Bernie has a lot of old injuries from his life before Avalon. He has scars on his eyes and ears from living with other bunnies who weren’t fixed.

He is about 9 lbs, and was dropped off at our door this fall with 3 of his siblings

One of these injuries basically cut off the protective flap that most rabbits have in front of their nostrils.

This has left us with a bunny who is very sensitive to dust and particles in the air, and who sneezes a lot. It’s not an infection issue, it’s a filtration issue.

Bernie needs to move to a foster asap. Preferably someone who has not many other rabbits to limit the amount of hay in the air.

We also will send him to foster with a full setup (4x4 pen) , linoleum, blankets, pellets, hay, toys and treats as well as an air purifier to help him out.

Meet Crazy Baby aka CB, Squeak or Squeakers!

This shy boy is the last of our Harriett litter profiles. He has so much personality and energy. He keeps his foster family entertained with his binkies and hiding under blankets. He is very inquisitive and super curious about what everyone in the house is up to. Even though he can be a little standoffish, once you gain his trust, he loves to have pets and nose kisses.

CB is neutered, vaccinated, and has perfect litter habits. He will most likely do best as a single rabbit in a quiet household.

Getting RHD vaccines and boosters! Each bunny will cost 25 dollars each which means we will spend 350 on vaccines tomorrow. RHD vaccines are vital in protecting them from illness, it doesn’t matter if they are inside only. You can track RHD on your shoes and it is 100 percent fatal if they catch it. Everybun here gets vaccinated 💕🫶

Big Momma is also being spayed and getting her vaccines at Narra Vet Clinic! Her spay and vaccine will cost 375 total.

Say hello to our girl Bundtcake!

She's another one of the feisty offspring of momma Harriet and as sweet as can be! She is obsessed with playing under blankets and we make sure she always has a small one to play with.

This girl is incredibly soft with beautiful coloring like her siblings. She's neat and tidy with her space. Bundtcake would love a home to have lots of space to run and binky. She is spayed and vaccinated and ready to entertain your household.
