Kennel training
Most dogs have a bad association with the kennel
It’s often used as punishment
That’s not good
It should be a safe space, a place to decompress and relax. It can also be used to keep your dog safe or keep them in a space when you’re gone, so they don’t destroy things
I typically refer to it as their “bedroom”
A dog who’s properly kennel trained will go there for comfort, and to relax when overwhelmed. They’ll also relax when you’re not home
The Kennel is a powerful tool

If you don’t correct behaviors you don’t like, you are teaching your dog that these behaviors are ok
Having a reliable correction/reward system also gives the dog clarity and confidence as it starts to understand what’s expected of it
If you take the emotion out, a correction is just giving your dog guidelines to stay between

Starting off hot; I’m not here to say the nice things you want to hear. That would be taking advantage of you. If you want that, go locate your positive only trainer 😘
Let’s be honest. This is an example of humanizing your dog. But the truth is, your dog is reacting to patterns
“My dOg LoveS to lIsTen tO mE aNd sEe mE haPpy”
No, your dog is looking forward to you rewarding him and that’s why he listened. He wants his paycheck. Same reason you go in to work. He also doesn’t want the correction that follows, if he doesn’t listen. Same reason you don’t break rules at work
There has to be a reliable reward/correction balance to ensure you have a reliable dog though.
As man’s best friend, We like to assume they’re capable of more but it’s just not the reality. Once we understand the give and take with dogs, we can better provide a fulfilling life and thrive with them
But don’t assume your dog makes decisions based off of your happiness or not. It’s just not true

I think about this often.

I try to make the most of my time with him.

I wouldn’t be training dogs if it wasn’t for him and I’ll forever have a hole left once he’s gone.

But until that day we are gonna THRIVE!!! 🙌🏼🔥💙

Why am I a dog trainer?

You know, I get this question a lot. What led me to it, how did I choose this? How did I know I was fit for it?

It all came down to the fact that I’m just passionate about helping people.

I didn’t realize this until after massage school back in 2017.

Being a dog trainer means I’m just solving problems for people. It’s almost like they’re stuck in a maze and I have a birds eye view. With that being said, there’s only so much I can do to help them and their dogs. Ultimately it’s up to you to put in the work but I’m telling you, following my protocol will work.

So with the most gratitude I have in my heart, thank you again to everyone who liked my new page. I’m hoping this makes my content more accessible to people. I give alot of tips, tricks, and hacks for free because I want as many people as possible to have that valuable info to change their lives with their dogs.

First of all, I want to thank you for liking this page.

It’s about time I made a page already!

This is just another platform for me to share my content and reach more people who may need my help with their dogs (where you at, Pandemic pups!?👀).

For now I do sessions by session trainings but by next year I should be available for board and trains.

I post great information in my content so be sure to stick around and keep watching for my posts.
