Heartworm.....nasty, nasty disease

Heartworm infection rates across the U.S. have steadily increased for nearly two decades despite the greater availability and efficacy of preventatives. Veterinary and animal health organizations hope to address misconceptions and misinformation about this disease.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE- If you can keep your cats indoors, do so. If your pets are not current on rabies vaccination, do so.

Thirty-six cases have been confirmed so far this year in Pima County, nearly half of the 77 cases confirmed statewide. Santa Cruz County had 10 confirmed cases and Cochise County had eight.
