This cutie, Athena, came for another visit when her pawrent didn’t have anyone to watch her for the weekend. We love to see Athena and spend quality time with her.

Athena is a simple girl that enjoys being a passenger princess and laying on the couch for her visit. We’ve cared for Athena for so long that she doesn’t require a kennel and just hangs out with the other living room pooches. She did try to steal another dogs kennel a couple times, however I think that’s just cause it was cozy.

Penny came for another visit to allow her pawrents the freedom to go on a trip. Penny is a joy to have in our home no matter how long it is!

🐾Pets of Vets🐾

This cutie, buddy, was needing some company and potty break buddy while his pawrent received some much needed care. We didn’t spend long with Buddy, however we will cherish our time with him.

Buddy is a shy boy that came from an overcrowded shelter and isn’t always sure about strangers. We allowed him to decide how close he came or if he wanted any kind of attention. After the first visit he was very excited to receive kisses along with belly rubs for days.

We love helping veterans even if it’s just a short stint for care.

This chi mix clan are transfers in from another Arizona city and were in need of a new nail trim tech. Some chihuahuas can be a bit terrified leading to biting potential, so their pawrent kept them distracted and gave lots of love during this traumatic event. We did get to give them all cookies after the “torture” session in hopes we could become friends over enemies.

Nail trims are an important of your pets overall health and keeping up with their nails could mean monthly appointments for clipping and smoothing out.

This cutie, Denzel, was in need of a safe place to hang out in while his pawrent went on a TDY. His pawrent found us on Dogs on Deployment and were happy to know he could be himself during his pawcation.

During Denzel’s stay he let us know that even with playmates our attention was his main focus. Our lap, our bed, or even the floor it didn’t matter as long as he had a paw touching it made him happy. His pawrent didn’t warn us about his fixation of giving endless kisses that we “tolerated” up until he went home.

We will miss Denzel, however know his pawrent is happy to have him back.

We got the pleasure of seeing this cutie, Woodstock, again when his pawrent took a short trip. Woodstock doesn’t mind our intrusion as long as we provide treats, catio access, and don’t give him his ear meds. Woodstock is such a crazy boy begging for attention until he gets over stimulated and asks us to just exist in his space.

We love seeing our feline friends and would love to make more if any are in need of affordable pet care.

This cutie, Acely, was in need of a new pet sitter when is first 2 weren’t available. We were happy to help the owner who was going out of town within a week.

Acely is your typical GSP and wanted to play, Chew, and be near us all at the same time. Acely did have to be closely watched due to his fixation of getting into anything his mouth could reach. Our stock pile of toys or even rawhides made sure his mouth stayed as busy as possible.

These wiggle butts were in need of a good nail trim and tried really hard to contain their excitement. We enjoy getting to spend time with Cora, Cleo, and Carla during our monthly appointments that keep their nails short and smooth.

Nail trims are an important part of your pets overall health and our at home service makes it convenient.

🐾Pets Of Vets🐾

This cutie, Rosey, was being watched by a kind neighbor of the pawrent. The pawrent wanted a more stable place for Rosey while receiving treatment. We went over the same day to speak with the pawrent and drove to collect Rosey.

Rosey is a simple girl that just wanted a soft bed to lay on and unlimited food to eat. We quickly learned that Rosey was potty pad trained over going outside. While with us we discovered that Rosey was in need of a dental that is estimated to be $1,500!!! This number shocked the pawrent, however we were able to provide upfront funds to allow Rosey to get seen by Dr. Kelly's Surgical Unit - Tucson.

If you would like to “donate” towards this vet cost please reach out to us.

🐾Pets of Vets🐾

We started Pets of Vets when we received a call from a caregiver at the VA seeking assistance with a veteran's pooches. The veteran's dogs were left at home without ANYONE to care for them and the Veteran had to remain hospitalized. The VA does have a list of “programs” that help, however, most of them aren't active anymore or can't aid with urgency. We jumped into action by getting the pooches cared for and headed to the VA to provide an update for the owner.

Since then we have assisted over 10 veterans with boarding, at-home care, and even getting their pet veterinary services. Our Pets of Vets program has changed over the last year to include preventative, urgent, and emergency services for veterans pets where we pay for services in full and allow them to pay monthly until the balance is paid in full. Without our upfront coverage, many veterans would struggle to afford the high cost of veterinary services.

We have looked into making “Pets of Vets” a 501c3 non-profit, however, the requirements are difficult when I am the sole proprietor and the government wants 3 board members. This limits our ability to receive “donations” from individuals or to fundraise for veterans under the nonprofit umbrella. While we may not be an “official” non-profit funds made from for-profit pet care are used for veterans when warranted.

We tell you all this is in hopes that our 200 followers may be willing to provide a tip the next time they book with us or pay it forward to allow veterans to not decide between their pets health and their own.

We would be HAPPY to answer any questions you have through various forms comments or if you want to privately contact us please do.

Thank you for supporting VEPS and Pets Of Vets

We would like to be open and honest with our current, past, and future clients about our boarding “facility”.

We strive to keep our home clean and sanitize often to prevent the spread of diseases, however cleaning can be a struggle due to my physical limitations. This isn’t to say we live in squalor or allow the home to reach this point.

Our home isn’t move in ready condition due to years of projects being started then not completed due to funds or my limitations. During the start of the business I went through a 2 year divorce that sucked away my funds, made me extremely depressed, and multiple times I thought I would be homeless.

When we have clients in our home we place their care as a top priority. We spend all our time making sure your pet has food, water, a space to play that’s safe, and a cozy spot on the bed or couch or even the floor.

We ask that if you are going to judge us for how we live, then please contact another pet sitter that may meet your standards.

This cutie, Tombstone, came to us after her pawrent didn’t feel she was being cared for by a friend. Tombstone wasn’t sure about us, so to make her feel better we got her a delicious ice cream from QT.

Tombstone is a simple girl that enjoys sneaking up on you for kisses along with judging you for all your life decisions. When not judging you she does enjoy chewing away on any of the dozens of rawhides we have. Tombstone loves food resulting in her going for anyone’s food that’s available even if it’s 20 cups.

This cutie, Chapo, was a 911 when his pawrents lost their home and needed a safe place for him to veg. Chapo didn’t seem to mind the new accommodations with the only complaint of late breakfast.

Chapo is a good boy that enjoyed taking over our couch and even “sneaking” onto the bed in the middle of the night. When not splooting all over a good raw hide keeps Chapo entertained.

This cutie, Itty Bitty, is their pawrents BEST friend and didn’t love having to leave him. We tried our best to surrogate for him and make sure he knew his pawrent loved him lots.

Itty Bitty is a simple pooch that enjoyed hiding under the bed and after figuring out the stairs cuddling right next to us. He wasn’t much for playing with the other dogs, however did make a couple friends during his stay.

His pawrent was released from the hospital a day later and asked us to keep Itty Bitty until after their test was done. Itty Bitty was able to return home with a nail trim after a quick bath.

These cuties; Lailey and Quincey, came for a lengthy slumber party while their pawrents went away for a bit.

Lailey adjusted quickly to the house and learned she didn’t need permission to get on the bed with everyone. She did forget her manners resulting in her stepping on some of the other dogs. When outside she loved to chase everyone or wrestling to her hearts content.

Quincey was a nervous wreck being here away from his pawrents and made the couch his chew toy for a bit. After a few days he did calm down enough to enjoy his time here for the most part. Outside time was spent being the sheriff of the yard whenever anyone tried to have fun or got to rowdy.

🐾Pets Of Vets🐾

Sometimes getting woken up at 11PM by the VA can be a burden, however getting to meet Poptka (Pop-Tu-Ka) and Heidi was worth it.

Poptka wasn’t the biggest fan of us coming into his home and made sure we knew how scary all 25 lbs of him were. He did end up melting into a sweet boy during our walks and post walk pets. We made sure to give him 3 walks a day for the bathroom and to get some energy out.

Heidi is an older gal with a routine that won’t he interrupted by anyone’s suddenly appearance. She didn’t ask for much from us other than her wet food in the morning and maybe a couple head scritches.
