Animal Healing and Wellness Clinic Animal Healing and Wellness Clinic is a small clinic focusing on integrative animal healing and wellness. She also provides hospice care for pets.

Dr Paula Medler has over three decades of training, experience and expertise in conventional and holistic veterinary medicine. Paula Medler, DVM, DMQ has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 30 years, Dr. Medler specializes in holistic veterinary medicine and dentistry. She treats dogs, cats, and horses with acupuncture, Chinese herbs, chiropractic manipulation and Medical QiGong. Her othe

r vet services include stem cell and ozone therapies as well as conventional Western veterinary medicine. Dr. Medler graduated from the University of Missouri, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. She practiced exclusively Western Veterinary Medicine from 1980 to 1991. In 1991, she was first introduced to the art and science of acupuncture. She knew then that there was so much more to learn, and that there were other treatments available for animals that weren’t utilized in her then exclusively Western Veterinary practice. She started her quest to learn more about integrative modalities and continues to do so. That quest has included multiple trips to China and certifications in: Acupuncture from the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS), Chinese Herbal Therapy both from IVAS and the New Mexico Chinese Herbal Course, Animal Chiropractic from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), Animal Tui-Na from the Chi Institute, Applied Kinesiology from Dr. Carl DeStefano, and Doctor of Medical Qigong from the International Institute of Medical Qigong (IIMQ). Dr. Medler owned and operated Companion Animal Clinic, a full-service AAHA accredited (American Animal Hospital Association) veterinary hospital in Tucson from 1984 to 2006. In 2006 she sold Companion Animal Clinic to concentrate wholly on her integrative medicine skills. Her dream is to bring Integrative Veterinary Medicine to those who previously have not had those modalities available. She believes that all animals should have the benefit of this type of medicine. Certified in animal rehabilitation and experienced in pet hospice care, she can help you and your pet through all stages of life. His teeth are like new AND he literally has every single tooth in his head (which is shocking for a kitty of this age)!

This is “Petal Yeti” and she is one of the sweetest dogs around!!! Her Mom is pretty special as well!
She has a unique story! 💕. She went to see the Specialist at Southwest Veterinary Surgical.

“This is Petal Yeti, a 5 year old female, Coton de Tulear. This little cutie came to see us for an initial consult back in January for suspected hermaphroditism and chronic urinary tract infections. While she had presence of female tubular/external genitalia, we tested for testosterone and levels came back very low. She also got a CT scan done, and while it reportedly stated she was a pseudohermaphrodite it was uncertain if the two structures in the mid abdomen represented te**es or ovaries. Our surgeon completed a exploratory laparotomy, found and removed ovatestis and atrophied testicle with vestigial uterus. The presence of male and female gonadal tissue and female tubular/external genitalia favors an interpretation of true hermaphroditism.

Petal Yetis owner updates us that she is all healed now and feeling great. She is feeling very energetic, happy and better than ever! She is back to full speed in her agility and will be competing in trails again soon!

What an interesting case!

This is a very short clip, but this is what a rattlesnake looks like in our desert environment!

These creatures blend in so well!
There have been SO MANY bites already this year, it’s frightening!

➡️ Be vigilant! Don’t just let your pets go outside unattended.
➡️ Invest in snake avoidance training, it’s worth it!
➡️ Do your best to snake proof your yard, where your pets go. Don’t pile things, keep areas clean and free of standing water (for many reasons, but we will focus on 🐍 today).
➡️ Have a plan. Take a few minutes to write down emergency numbers in case you are presented with a snake bite with one of your pets. Trust me, your brain goes blank when things like that happen!
➡️ Did I mention be vigilant? Our pets trust us to care for them!!!!

It’s with a heavy heart that I let you all know my sweet Boo earned her wings this past week.
She and I were so blessed to have been surrounded by Dr. Paula Medler, Jeannette and Michael.

She gave me a great almost 15 years and I miss her dearly!

Thank you to everyone who would say hello to her when you’d see her, she loved people and treats!

Until we meet again my sweet, Mama loves you ♥️♥️♥️

Had a few extra minutes and we were reminiscing today...so thought we’d share. This is Rosie, and she is proof we are all a big ball of energy! As you can see, energy travels through us and when you break the physical loop, you break the connection. Energy works in the most incredible ways! Isn’t she cool?????

Annie update!!!! She can move all of her legs and is able to support her own weight now!!! Such exciting news for this little girl! Hi everyone! I’d like to introduce you all to our new friend “Annie” aka “Orphan Annie”! She is a 3 month old sweet little goat who was surrendered to Zen Donkey Sanctuary; which is a 501 c3 non profit organization. She arrived there extremely malnourished and all four of her legs are paralyzed. She can’t move her legs but she can feel them when Dr. Medler touches her, which is a good thing!!! The incredible people with the Sanctuary are bringing her routinely for Dr. Medler to treat her with Acupuncture!!! These treatments can definitely help, but they can also get expensive for a rescue organization. If you would maybe like to help Miss Annie out with her treatments, you can call and donate to her! We will credit your donation onto her account so she can continue her treatments and hopefully run again some day soon!!! We will post frequent updates on this little gal so you can all see how she progresses! Say a little prayer for her and we thank her rescue peeps for doing what they do!!! 💕💕💕
