We are grateful for Dr. Kacey Joseph from VCA Ben White Animal Hospital sharing with Nicole Cobler about what to (and not to) give to your dog before we all gather around the table this week!

Foods loaded with seasoning, gravy or bones can cause vomiting, diarrhea and other health issues for dogs.

For those of you who are not aware, Dr. Stanley Rubin has retired.

Over the past two years, Dr. Rubin has been an integral part of VCA Valley Animal Hospital and Emergency Center as our Medical Director. His dedication, compassion and expertise have made a lasting impact on our clients, their beloved pets and our entire team.

Dr. Rubin’s retirement marks the culmination of a remarkable 45-year career in veterinary medicine. His contributions have extended far beyond the exam room: from teaching at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, and the University of Illinois, to earning Diplomate status with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, to serving as one of VCA’s respected Regional Medical Directors. He even co-authored a veterinary textbook still widely used by students and professionals today. What a career indeed!

We are immensely grateful to Dr. Rubin for all he’s brought to our hospital and to the veterinary community. Please join us in wishing him all the best in this exciting next chapter.

Congratulations, Dr. Rubin, your dedication to veterinary medicine will continue to inspire us.

Most of you may already know, but for those who haven't heard: Dr. Schug has relocated to Nashville, TN to join the team at VCA PetMed.

We are incredibly grateful for the care and compassion he has shown our patients and clients over the past three years, and to say he will be greatly missed would be an understatement.

Rest assured, your pets will still be in excellent hands with one of our other Primary Care Veterinarians: Drs. Coverdill, Thompson, Zlatow, or O'Dell.

Please join us in wishing Dr. Schug all the best in this exciting new opportunity, and safe travels as he begins his next chapter!
