Training -- Boarding -- Grooming
Sol Dog Lodge & Training Center provides training and boarding services for the Tucson area, specializing in behavior modification. We offer private training options, and are conveniently located near Prince & I-10 and a second location at 9665 N. Our indoor kennels at the Prince location are climate controlled, and the director of kennel operations lives on-site,
providing 24/7/365 care for your dog. Sol Dog Lodge exists, above all, to support the people who love dogs. Our goal is a community where life with dogs is enjoyable, and where dogs all live healthy, balanced lives in committed homes. We recognize the importance of rescue groups and shelters in meeting this goal, and strive to support these entities through our work. We also generally have several trained dogs up for adoption. Our vision is taking shape — literally.
Construction continues at the new Sol Dog Lodge campus opening in 2025.
This campus will help us provide even more care, training, and support for dogs (and their people) in our community.
Imagine spacious play yards, cozy boarding, suites, and expanded Grooming & Training facilities — all designed with a comfort and happiness of our canine guests in mind.
What feature are you excited about at the new campus?

Her book, “Twelve Days From Transfer” was delivered in a Sol Dog tote, along with some children’s books written by friends of hers. These books were given to the children cared for at the center in Kigali, Rwanda. You’re incredible, Eleanor.

🦃 Thanksgiving Treats for Your Pup – What’s Safe & What’s Not!
We know those puppy eyes are hard to resist during Thanksgiving dinner, so here’s a quick guide on what your dog typically can and can’t enjoy from the holiday table! 🐾🍗
🍂 Safe Treats:
- Turkey (plain, no skin) – A protein-packed favorite! Just avoid the skin and seasonings.
- Sweet Potatoes (plain) – Full of fiber and vitamins, but skip the butter and marshmallows!
- Green Beans (plain) – Crunchy and packed with nutrients, served plain.
- Pumpkin – Perfectly safe and great for digestion (just make sure it’s plain, not pie mix!).
🚫 Avoid:
- Cooked Bones – These can splinter easily and cause serious injury to your dog’s mouth, throat, and digestive system.
- Stuffing – Onions, garlic, and seasonings are a big no-no for pups.
- Mashed Potatoes – Butter, milk, and extras can upset their tummy.
- Gravy – Too rich and salty for canine friends.
- Desserts (especially chocolate and pie) – These can be dangerous, especially chocolate and xylitol!
Keep those tails wagging and bellies happy with safe treats! 🧡 Share this guide to help other pet parents, and enjoy a safe and delicious Thanksgiving together! 🍁🐶

Sol Dog Lodge is managed by Rachel Molyneux, a well-known dog trainer who has rescued, fostered, rehabilitated and adopted out hundreds of dogs. Throughout her years working in shelters, Rachel was often the go-to for difficult and behaviorally challenged dogs, and she has committed herself to learning how to help them. She started sol.DOG Tucson, LLC in 2013 which brought her pro-active training approach to dogs throughout the Tucson area. Rachel enjoys being able to give back to the community in a new way by helping families turn their problem pups into cherished members of the family and by supporting the efforts of rescue groups.
In 2021, Sol Dog Lodge will move to its new 4.2-acre campus in Tangerine Business Park, Marana, one of the highest growth areas in Southern Arizona. Sol Dog Lodge will continue to give dogs of ALL breeds, sizes, ages, temperaments, and needs, a convenient, one-stop oasis. Their needs will be met with loving kindness and the highest professional standards on a state-of-the-art campus, that will also allow us to meet the needs of the community, including often overlooked people through specialized community programs.
