Sending ALL the love and hugs to our friends and furriends this holiday season! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Between holidays, moving, traveling, meeting lots of new furry pals, and spending lots of quality time with old furriends, we may have been MIA over here on social media but we are still very much available to our pack if you need us! ❤️ Jersey, Annie, and Elsa were 3 of the many fluffy faces we had the pleasure of spending time with this week 🥰😍

I absolutely love rescues.. and I absolutely love seniors.. when you combine the two, my heart explodes 😭 We have had the pleasure of walking this absolutely perfect girl for a couple months now when her foster mom works long day but the time has come that she is all ready for her forever home 🥹
What her foster mom says:
Happy is a 15 year old, spayed female, short haired doggo. But don’t let her age fool you, Happy has tons of energy and life left in her. And really great teeth! She’s a little ball of energy that enjoys taking multiple walks a day and playing tug of war with her toy. She’s incredibly smart and knows basic commands of sit, stay, paw, lay down and has learned very quickly to use the doggy door. She walks well on leash and even off leash she likes to stay by her humans side. She is a huge cuddle bug, especially in the mornings. She likes belly and butt rubs and will walk right between your legs until you give them to her. As a foster she isn’t living with other animals, but on our walks she mostly ignores other dogs, never barks. She has stayed with a cat a couple times and seems to ignore them. She never barks in the back yard, in fact I’ve never even heard her bark, she just grunts when she gets excited. She loves sunbathing during the day or taking naps. She’s short haired, so really minimal shedding, of any at all. Happy Is very food motivated and could easily be trained to do anything with the right treats. She’s honestly just a sweet and smart dog looking for her forever retirement home with humans that can give her lots of love.

Please let us know if you can think of someone who would be the perfect family for this perfect girl. She deserves the best!!!

New Kids, Gunner, Ranger, Sweet Pea, Gabbana, and Chunk, have been enjoying doggy daycare in their own home with their buddy Bex. For some dogs, daycare means nonstop running and playing. For others, like these kiddos, it means relaxation, companionship, and quality time to build trust.

We had the BEST morning at Old Souls Animal Rescue and Retirement Home🧡 There are many different animals from all different backgrounds and disabilities, and all I saw were animals who just feel happy and loved 😍 Whether they are healing from a broken foot or a broken heart, it is inspiring to see the care, compassion and patience they get at Old Souls. They are in need of volunteers and donations, and they have many angels looking for their forever home. Please keep these babies in mind the next time you have some extra time, money, or any of the items below:

Fly spray for the cows
Misters for tortoises and chickens

You will always receive frequent communication, reassurance of the safety of your baby and home, and lots of fun pictures!

How adorable is this trio!? We had the best time with our new furriends and getting to know their interests, personalities, and quirks. Such a fun crew! 🥰👏

THIS SUNDAY THE 17th, Pura Vida Pet Care will be volunteering at our dear friends, Old Souls Animal Rescue & Retirement Home, from 9a-12p. They could use the communities help, and we would love for you to join us! 🧡 Old Souls has several programs to help our furry friends:
- Palliative and end of life care for geriatric and hospice animals
- Rehabilitation and physical therapy for special needs animals
- Veterinary care for senior pets whose owners are not able to cover the cost of care: Up to $500 per animal per year paid to veterinarian
- Camp Old Souls: $50/day, owner brings food and meds
- Together Forever Program, owners arrange in advance to leave their pets in the care of Old Souls when the owner is incapacitated or has passed away

Please let me know by this Friday at 12p if you would like to join us!

If you cannot make it, but want to help, Old Souls Animal Rescue and Retirement Home could use the following donations:

In honor of National Senior Pet Awareness Month, also known as National Adopt A Senior Pet Month, we are highlighting a very special rescue, Old Souls Animal Rescue and Retirement Home, who goes above and beyond every day to make sure every animal, no matter their age or health condition, feels love and family 🧡 Their Mission is to rescue geriatric, special needs, and hospice animals, and provide them with a loving home, a soft bed, compassionate care, and the dignity they deserve in their final days. They take in animals from local shelters where they may not have a chance to make it out alive because they are geriatric, special needs, or hospice. In certain circumstances, they will take in animals from community members who are themselves in hospice, or are experiencing other serious circumstances that fit their mission. Please let our community know about this loving rescue and please consider donating to their very important cause!
