This week we will feature Chex! He is approximately 2 years old and weighs 64lbs. He has been waiting for his forever home for 8 months! He is an easy boy! He can sit on command and is dog friendly. He enjoys playing in the yard with others. He is so sweet and so silly! He does a cute little dance when he sees you! He is such a goofball. He is big and small dog friendly. He has a nose and eye patch that looks like a heart.

His adoption fee is $75 and that covers his neuter, microchip and all his vaccines. You can foster to adopt to ensure he is a good fit in your home!

This week we will feature Ego! He is about a year old and 70lbs. Ego has grown up in the shelter since he was a puppy! He is a sweet and goofy pup! Full of love and loves to play. He is dog friendly and takes correction well from more mature dogs, he is eager to learn.

Recently the Tulare Shelter is having A/C work done and Ego was one of the lucky dogs that a foster stepped up to house while the work is being done. (they still need fosters while the work finishes, so if you are interested go down to the shelter and give one of the dogs a break for a day or two)

This is what his Foster had to say about Ego: He is such a sweetie and truly I am IMPRESSED with this guy. Ego has grown up in the shelter and the fact that he's had zero accidents in the house is mind blowing! Ego does well with many dogs ranging from little too big with diverse personalities! LOVES to carry a stuffed animal around and snuggles up quite nicely! He's been learning some manners and doing well with my jumping up on me with boundaries. Since its fresh outside I've been letting him hang outside while I go to work and he's not destructive, not barking up a storm and he's not trying to leave or escape. Come down and meet Ego. You won't regret it!

Farah has been in the shelter OVER A YEAR! She was found starving and abandoned. She recovered from that but now the shelter stress weighs on her. She is very people friendly. She just wants love. She needs a home with some patience. She has been dog friendly in the past but right now she might need to be an only dog until she can decompress.

She is about 2-1/2 years old and about 55 lbs.

He is good with kids and is just so charming that you can't help but fall for him. He's such a gem!

🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 🎀

Did you know that mammary cancer isn't just a concern for humans? Our furry friends, especially unspayed female dogs and cats, are also at risk. In fact, female dogs that aren't spayed before their first heat cycle have a significantly higher chance of developing mammary tumors later in life.

📊 The Stats:
🐶 Female dogs spayed before their first heat cycle have less than a 0.5% chance of developing mammary cancer.
🐾 In dogs, if spayed after the first heat cycle, the risk increases by 7-8%
🎀 Spaying at any age in cats reduces the risk by 40-60%
😺50% of mammary tumors in unspayed dogs are malignant
💜 90% of mammary tumors in unspayed cats are malignant

We're committed to raising awareness about breast cancer in both humans and pets. Regular veterinary check-ups and early spaying are some of the best ways to protect your pet from mammary cancer.
