I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween. Our dogs and fosters enjoyed it😂🎃
🐾When will Tulsa wake up? I understand this is a problem all over the United States, but as someone who lives in Tulsa, I am really disappointed in our community. 🐾
I am shocked every time I read a comment saying our shelter is a "no-kill shelter" or that every dog in the shelter is a "pitbull" type of dog(by the way those are some of the best dogs❤️).
If you have never set foot in the Tulsa Animal Welfare, I'm asking you to. Actually, I'm begging you to. If you live in Tulsa, and you care about the pets in Tulsa, you'll do at least that.
You can just walk around and give out dog treats. You can meet the wonderful staff and volunteers that pour their hearts into saving these dogs. You can take pictures and post the dogs at risk.
Today, I actually had someone text me. They adopted a dog named Heinrich last week. They told me that the only reason they saw him was because of a post I made about him. If you can't donate, foster, volunteer, or adopt, you can go to the shelter, take a picture of a dog, and post them. This one small act could save their life.❤️
Everyone is capable of doing something to help this problem.🐾
At the last moment Buddy got a foster home🎉🎉🎉🎉
Buddy. Only has until today at 6pm. At the Tulsa Animal Welfare. Super sweet. He will automatically sit for dog treats and waits. Someone definitely worked with him before.
Jackson is now back home. I'm not crying🥹
Someone wasn't thrilled about bath time.
Pictures of the clean and cute puppies in the comments❤️
Roy
If I had to describe Roy in one word, it would be "Forgiving." The first day I met Roy at the shelter, he caught my attention, not because of his condition, but because of how happy and friendly he was. I couldn't believe a dog that was so abused by humans could be so forgiving. Roy loves all humans and dogs. He is a giant puppy.
Roy was found with a wire tie out around his neck. It was deep in his neck, and his neck wound was full of maggots. He was bone skinny and spent almost two weeks at the shelter clinic before we were able to take him home to foster him.
It was a long journey, but Roy looks like a completely different dog now.
Roy is neutered, kennel trained, potty trained, LOVES people, great with other dogs, and very food motivated. Roy has a lot of energy and is very strong. He needs an experienced home. Roy needs to be an inside dog. He needs to be able to sleep on that comfortable dog bed at night time. He will not be chained in a backyard ever again. I am going to be extremely picky and make sure that Roy gets nothing but the best home. He deserves it. If you'd like to meet Roy, please message me.
Thank you so much to the staff at the Tulsa Animal Welfare. They did an AMAZING job treating Roy. Without them, Roy wouldn't be here.
Our bottle fed foster puppies, Ellie and Enzo, turned 6 weeks old today. I can't believe how fast time has gone. When we first got them, they were only a day old. I absolutely love these two. Enzo is still trying to get his feet under him. He is very clumsy. I have an amazing client who donated new toys for them off of my Amazon wishlist. They were so happy to play with those today❤️ Thank you so much!
A lot of work still needs to be done, but Kevin and Caroline have enjoyed "helping."

UPDATE: Mirielis, Jethro and Frito got adopted❤️❤️❤️
Week 4.
As most of you know, every Thursday, we go to the Tulsa Animal Welfare to bathe, take pictures, and give treats to a few at risk dogs. This video is from last Thursday, and all of these dogs need out ASAP.
I am late posting this because one of my personal dogs, unfortunately, isn't doing well. 8 years ago, I lost my "heart" dog May, a Border Collie to cancer. Two months after losing her, I saw a post for "Clear the shelter day" at the Tulsa Animal Welfare. I decided to go and walked the shelter for at least two hours. I wasn't sure if I was ready to get another dog, and it was very overwhelming with all the people there looking to adopt.
I was about to leave when I saw a gorgeous Border Collie. I went to pull his kennel card so I could take it up front and adopt him, but it was already taken, and someone else had adopted him. I noticed the dog to the left of his kennel. I must have walked by her at least ten times and never noticed her. She was in a deep sleep and so calm. Most of the dogs at the shelter were barking and jumping, trying to get attention from all the people who were there. I leaned down and tried to call her over to me. She slowly got down from her bed, walked over, and sat right down next to me. I grabbed her kennel card and learned that she came in with two puppies, was found as a stray, she was 8 years old, and her name was Maybelle. It felt like someone had hit me in the chest when I saw her name. I knew that no one could ever replace May, but I was in disbelief that out of the 200 dogs there, the one card I had pulled was for a dog named Maybelle.
The rest is history. Maybelle has been like a "mom" to all of our foster dogs and puppies. Her best friend when I lived in the county was a duck. They would swim in the pond all day together. She was the "ring dog" at our wedding. She has been the most perfect dog. Maybelle is the first dog I ever adopted, an
Some of the lovable, sweet, and perfect dogs that desperately need a home asap. They are at the Tulsa Animal Welfare.
China-A160726- She lived her life on a chain tied to a cinder block. She knows how to sit and doesn't know a stranger. She is super sweet! 2 years old.
Sofe(UPDATE ADOPTED)-A161967- 3 years old. Very sweet and just wanted to cuddle. Loved giving kisses.
Pinky-A161246- 7 months old. This guy was a bundle of joy and super sweet!!!
Espresso-A161260- 1 year old. He was a staff favorite. Very sweet and lovable.
Reggie(UPDATE ADOPTED)-A160275- only 5 months old. He is a handsome, sweet, well-mannered, chunky puppy. I have never had a 5 month old puppy do so good for bath time. He loves to carry his food bowl around and would love a home that had toys for him to play with.
Sadie-Al61327- 4 years old. She was brought in to the shelter from a life outside with no shelter. She came in with her puppies, and they all got adopted. Sadie deserves a forever home now.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting one of these dogs, please go to the shelter in person. They are open from 2pm-6pm.
I recommend asking an employee to take the dog outside. They act completely different once out of the kennel.
All dogs go home fixed, up to date, and chipped.
These dogs are very urgent.
