Many of you know Hailee Rice, she’s been at the clinic for 3 years now. She is an animal lover through and through (especially the cats 🐱). Veterinary work is one of her passions. We appreciate the work she does for us in keeping the pets happy, making sure the clinic is clean, and performing various but essential tasks for our practice. Happy kennel/vet assistant week! We’ve chosen this week to celebrate and recognize our staff who take care of the clinic’s kennel and assist in taking care of our patients. Many of you know them but may not completely understand the scope of their jobs. They are tasked with keeping both our patients/boarders and the clinic itself clean and tidy. They perform baths, nail trims and walking. They help monitor our patients and boarders for any issues that arise. They assist the RVTs by holding the patients for blood draws, IV line placements, injections, induction of anesthesia, and any other treatments and services performed.

First off, we are recognizing Zach Haggard. Zach has been with us for 13 years and is without a doubt a vital part of our practice. He knows our clinic backwards and forwards and trains all of our kennel staff. He is a hard worker and we appreciate him so much. If you see Zach this week, be sure to give him extra thanks for all he does!

🐾 While it's generally best if your pooch sticks to kibble on Thanksgiving, we understand your critters are part of the family. Here's a list of treats most healthy dogs can eat in (small!) amounts on Turkey Day:

✔️ Plain turkey with no skin or gravy
✔️ Egg whites without the deviled yolk
✔️ Cooked green beans (not casserole)
✔️ Sweet potatoes without the marshmallow
✔️ Cooked carrots
✔️ Plain baked rolls
✔️ Cooked brussel sprouts
✔️ Plain mashed potatoes
✔️ Whipped cream (just a little)

🐾 Avoid anything fatty, buttery, creamy, or containing onions (unless you want to come see us at STATVet 😉).
