Announcement: Kitty City closing May 31
To our Beloved Kitty City Clients,
As many of you know, the building that housed Kitty City recently changed hands. Our lease was up in February of this year and I spoke to the new owners about continuing to rent the Kitty City part of the building. At the time, they seemed to be amenable to that arrangement. Yesterday, they informed me that they do not believe that any of the businesses that have expressed an interest in leasing the other side would be compatible with a “cat hotel.” The building is zoned industrial and automotive service shops, cabinet shops and other loud neighbors as tenants could be detrimental to the cats that board with us. Consequently, we have until May 31st to move out. I am sad and disappointed, but the situation is out of my control. We will honor the reservations in place up to to May 20th, but will be calling owners with reservations after that date to refer them elsewhere. I am sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.
Please know that Kitty City has been such a labor of love for me and for the employees that work here. We tried to make it a place where every cat felt safe and cared for with as little stress as possible and I believe we succeeded in that effort. We have learned so much from the cats, their owners and each other as we cared for them. Thank you to everyone that trusted us to do so. We love you and we will miss you.
Dogville will continue to do what we do best for the dogs that stay with us and play there at daycare. While I do not see a solution at this time to re-create Kitty City at another location, time will tell.
Warmly,
Delana Taylor McNac, DVM
